How to Rent CS:GO and CS2 Skins

Buying a separate key for each case can be a pretty costly affair, but now, thanks to the innovative people at Valve, you can finally rent skins from one collection to see what you’re feeling.  

Nobody could’ve predicted this, but Valve actually went for it and introduced the process of renting skins. In the past, we’ve had an X-ray package, but now, Valve decided to give us yet another innovative feature, a case collection that you can rent for a week, as opposed to unboxing one permanent skin. You can now unlock every skin for 7 days, except knives. More about renting skins in CS2 in today’s article.

Can You Rent CS:GO and CS2 Skins?

Yes, now you can finally rent CS2 skins! However, this only concerns the 2024 Kilowatt case. Considering the odds of unboxing a decent skin is pretty low on a first try, renting a skin might be a good idea, especially with the way Valve set this process up. Plus, you’ll get to see how some of the skins look in game, so you can see what you like prior to buying the skin of your choice. 

How To Rent CS:GO and CS2 Skins? 

In order to start renting CS2 skins, you’ll need a Kilowatt case first. Here’s the entire game plan:

• If you have a Kilowatt case in your inventory, then simply launch the game. 

• If you don’t have it, then you can buy it at Skin.Land at a cheap price.

• Launch the game and open your Inventory.

• In your Inventory, find and right-click a Kilowatt case

• Also, you have to purchase a key, which costs $2.5

• Out of two present options, select an “Open for rent” one

• You’re all set! You can equip any skin of your choice and test them out on a server.

You can rent all CS2 skins present in a Kilowatt collection, except knives. Here’s the full list:

Can You Rent Premium CS:GO Skins?

It is unclear whether Valve is going to continue this practice and allow renting skins from other collections, but as it stands, all skins except knives can be used by players. Once the week has passed, all rented skins will be gone from your inventory. It’s worth mentioning that you cannot modify, customize or sell the rented skin on the marketplace or anywhere else. If you try to apply a sticker or rename the skin, you’ll be offered to buy a skin at full price.
