Unlike many first-person shooter competitors, Counter-Strike offers a flexibility in every weapon class, allowing players to find their favorite firearm for every occasion. Since the ancient times of CS: Source, players were able to choose between five pistols for each side, but CS:GO introduced a loadout system that allowed players on CT side to choose between USP-S and P2000, replacing the ol’ reliable K&M .45 Tactical. With the release of CS2, there’s been a lot of speculations regarding the superiority of one weapon over the other, but just how true are these claims? We’ll answer all of your burning questions in this week’s article.

In-Depth Comparison Of The P2000 vs USP-S in CS:GO/CS2

Considering that you may now rock both P2000 and USP-S thanks to the recent changes in a loadout, you’re no longer forced to choose one or another for all use cases. However, who really needs both P2000 and USP-S when you can equip the spare slot for something heavier and more practical. Both pistols are great starting options on CT side, but let’s take a closer look at their key differences.

Fire rate & Damage

Both USP-S and P2000 have a solid fire rate of 352 rounds per minute. The starting CT pistols may not be as fast as CZ-75 or Dualies, but still plenty of rapid firepower. Both pistols deal 35 damage and have one of the highest fatal headshot range in a pistol category. The damage has never been an issue with the USP, moreover, it is hailed by many as a one-tap machine. Opening pistol rounds can be easily won if you aim precisely for the head, when the T side cannot buy a helmet yet.

Spray pattern and control

Spray patterns on both pistols are pretty much the same, and both pistols are easy enough to control. With these, your main objective is to take single precise shots, not to spray down the enemy team. Both pistols are excellent in terms of control and have no horizontal deviation.

Accurate range

This is where it gets interesting. The standing accurate range is longer on a silenced USP-S, but shorter on a non-silenced one. The same story with the crouch accurate range – USP-S’s accurate range is longer on a silenced version. The (P2000) P2K has a 22.9m of accurate standing range, having a middle value between the three.

Mag size and ammo

Where P2K has a clear win is in the ammo department. Whereas USP-S has only two magazines in reserve, P2000 can be reloaded four times. Anyone who’s ever played CS:GO or CS2 has faced the issue of ammo shortage on USP. Moreover, P2K has an extra round in the magazine.

P2000 vs USP-S Skins

Both pistols have a plethora of skins for any budget. P2K can be equipped with 30 skins of various rarity, while USP-S boasts an even more impressive total of 36 skins. The factors of USP’s immense popularity and extra space for creative output on its silencer make the USP skins significantly more expensive. While the USP-S has four Covert skins, the P2K only has one. If you want to ball out on a budget, then make sure to check out available options at Skin.Land. Conclusion: Which one is Better - P2000 or USP-S?

P2K and USP-S are similar in many ways, their key difference lie in the ammo size and a silencer. In situations where you absolutely have to run and gun for longer periods of time, then the P2000 is the way to go, as it has better moving accuracy, more ammo and an extra bullet in a magazine. If your priority is a more precise weapon on longer distances, then you should definitely go with the USP-S, offering better recoil control and a silencer that makes it harder for enemies to trace your precise location.
