MAC-10 Case Hardened Tier List
The MAC-10 | Case Hardened was released in CS:GO on September 21st, 2021 during the Operation Riptide update, as part of the Dust 2 Collection. The collection also features insanely cool AK-47 Gold Arabesque and the vibrant UMP-45 Fade. While the MAC-10 Case Hardened is not in the highest rarity class, being just a Restricted (Purple) skin, it is still extremely valuable due to the nature of Case Hardened skins. If you’re unfamiliar with this finish, then we should mention that these skins don’t show scratches or chipped paint – the lower quality versions (well-worn or battle-scarred) have a slight discoloration or a heavily oxidized look. The appearance of this MAC-10 can vary from the usual golden-and-gray color scheme with some sparse blue patches on the receiver to an almost entirely blue receiver part with some small golden patches. Like with many other MAC-10 skins, the only part that changes color is the receiver, while the bolt, barrel, grip and the stock remain unchanged. This and the fact that it is an SMG skin after all play a huge role in it being only a Restricted skin and in its pricing. Now, let’s take a closer look at the best MAC-10 Case Hardened patterns.
What is a Blue Gem?
A Blue Gem is pretty much any Case Hardened skin that has a high percentage of blue on the pattern surface. The amount of blue cover reserved for the “real” Blue Gems usually stands at over 90%, but in certain cases it can go lower starting from 85%. As we have probably mentioned, there isn’t really a MAC-10 pattern that is entirely covered in blue cover due to the way the pattern was imprinted. Blue Gems are the rarest and most expensive versions of any skin or knife, and are usually harder to find or acquire due to higher prices. The differentiation of the four most valuable tiers stands approximately at these figures:
Tier 1 – blue covers more than 90% (Blue Gems)
Tier 2 – from 80% to 90%
Tier 3 – from 65% to 80%
Tier 4 – %50 to %65
There’s also a separate “Gold Gem” category that doesn’t rely on having any blue color present on the skin. On the contrary, those skins shouldn’t have any visible blue patches.
Tier 1 The Blue Gems MAC-10

As the name suggests, these patterns feature a unique color scheme where the blue color fills almost the entire space of the receiver. These patterns, obviously, cost significantly more than all their counterparts. Unfortunately, even the best Blue Gems that have max blue coverage may have a slight presence of gold or gray patches. For example, the fan-favorite #667 features oxidized parts in the front and the back of the receiver.
Pattern index: 667, 406, 239, 503, 349
Tier 2 MAC-10 Case Hardened Patterns

Some Tier 2 patterns look just as great as the Blue Gems. For example, the pattern #598 looks almost just as good as the Holy Grail #667.
Pattern index: 195, 251, 400, 598, 199, 807, 475, 972, 381, 345, 292, 80, 315, 414
Tier 3 MAC-10 Case Hardened Patterns

The Tier 3 patterns have this oxidized look that shifts from blue to purple and to gold. Some of these patterns have a considerable portion of blue that covers at least a 1/3 of the receiver.
Pattern index: 182, 889, 964, 95, 546, 285, 959, 147, 311, 328, 652, 570, 885, 788, 899, 358, 629, 144, 6, 222, 587, 18, 114, 34, 831, 808, 346, 41, 295, 811, 208, 309, 644, 436, 933, 108, 464, 657, 58, 72, 705, 960, 528, 858, 376, 378, 561, 19, 119, 553, 944, 241, 801, 153, 76, 523, 501, 313, 566, 871, 458, 214, 525, 880, 699, 602, 669, 369, 138, 748, 402, 390, 434, 835, 579, 633, 720, 111, 127, 604, 473, 156, 107, 658, 457, 8, 242, 10, 190, 707, 573, 185, 716, 502, 735, 117, 453, 255, 399, 751, 881, 424, 403
Tier 4 MAC-10 Case Hardened Patterns

Tier 4 Case Hardened patterns tend to have a significant amount of gold or gray, oftentimes overpowering the blue patches on the receiver. If you don’t care for the amount of blue on your MAC-10, then the following patterns are in abundance and highly affordable.

The Gold Gem MAC-10 Case Hardened Patterns

A Gold Gem Case Hardened pattern refers to a skin that has no blue patches and consists mostly of vibrant gold tones. They aren’t as popular as the Blue Gems and cost significantly less. If you’re into this kind of look, then these should be also pretty easy to find.
