What is ADR in CS:GO/CS2
ADR in Counter-Strike is one of the metrics that determine how effective the player was, along with KDR, win rate, and other parameters. ADR shows how good someone is in inflicting damage on their opponents. You can view the parameter after each game. If you want to play competitively and want to improve your ADR rating, try to do the following:
Win with headshots, because they do more damage.
Practice using Grenades and use them appropriately, Damage from utilities also counts.
Study maps thoroughly and learn how to use them together with other teammates.
How to Calculate ADR in CS2
The ADR in CS2 changes with each match. The formula to calculate ARD in CS2 is very simple: the total damage is divided by the number of rounds played. For example, for a player who has done 1000 damage in a 20-round match, the ADR will amount to 50.
This method of calculating the parameter gives players a simple way to compare their results by using a statistic that directly represents their impact in reaching the result of the match.
How to Check ADR in CS2
If you want to check ADR in CS2, two approaches for doing it are available.

You don’t need to perform any special procedure to view ADR at the end of the match. When the game is completed, you will see ADR along with other parameters on the players’ cards. The number isn’t difficult to identify, as it has the word ADR written below it and is a bit bigger than the other two parameters.

On the other hand, you do not need to wait to learn what your ADR is. To view the number in-game, do the following:
Press TAB.
Click the right mouse button (alt-fire) to open options.
Click on the icon with a graph to view detailed players’ stats. You will find ARD among them.
ADR vs KDR
Before ADR was introduced, players often used other parameters to rate their game. One of the most popular ones is KDR, which means Kill-Death Ratio. To calculate it, you need to divide the number of achieved kills by the number of times the players themselves were killed.
Currently, KDR remains among the parameters which are used to determine if the player is effective. However, It is usually used along with the other parameters. While high KRD is preferable, as it means that the player shoots the opponents often and gets shot rarely, it doesn’t always reflect the performance. For example, an entry fragger will have a lower KDR, because they get killed more often, but still plays a crucial role in the game. A supporting player will also have a lower KDR due to the generally lower number of kills.
Many players consider ADR a better metric, as it accounts not only for kills but also for other damage, for example, when someone deals enough damage to weaken the enemy and leaves for other teammates to finish them.
