What is Wingman in CS:GO/CS2?
Wingman is a popular game mode introduced in CS:GO seven years ago, as a part of the Operation Hydra update. As opposed to the classic 5v5 mode, the Wingman is centered around the teamwork and communication between you and your partner. This game mode allows players to engage in 2x2 shootouts in a shortened version of popular defusal maps such as Inferno, Vertigo, Cobblestone and many more. Since the maps are significantly smaller, it makes for faster and more compact rounds. The Wingman is among the most beloved game modes in Counter-Strike, and luckily for us, it is present in CS2, albeit a substantial part of the CS:GO content is still missing.
CS:GO/CS2 Wingman Ranks
Even though the Wingman has nothing to do with the usual Competitive 5v5, the ranking system is pretty much the same. It starts with the Silver I and peaks in the Global Elite, much like in CS:GO. The CS2 Wingman rank system is split into three subcategories, where the lower tier starts with Silver I and ends Silver Elite Master, followed by Gold Nova 1 to Master Guardian Elite, and ends with the highest tier from Distinguished Master Guardian to The Global Elite.
CS:GO/CS2 Wingman Maps
The majority of Wingman maps are just shortened versions of maps from the Competitive pool. What makes them unique is that they’re the only maps in game with access to only one bombsite, since you’re playing 2x2 and rounds tend to be considerably quicker in this game mode. However, two new maps were made specifically for Wingman, so you won’t spot any janky obstacles to keep you from going somewhere you’re not supposed to go.

There are currently six maps available in the Wingman game mode, including the shortened one-bombsite versions of Inferno, Vertigo, Nuke and Overpass. Unfortunately, many CS:GO-era Wingman maps were cut out from CS2, including Cobblestone, Shortdust and a few others. Instead of them, Valve added Memento and Assembly, two community-made maps designed specifically for Wingman. Let us know if you like two new maps in the comments below.

How To Unlock Wingman Mode in CS2?
Unfortunately, if you’re a complete beginner, you’ll have to clock in 5–7 matches before you can access Wingman. The good news is that you can just spam 5 games in Deathmatch to unlock Wingman. Once you’re all set, here’s how you access Wingman:
Launch CS2, then click Play
Proceed to Matchmaking > Wingman
Select the maps you want to try out and you’re good to go!
Also, you can access Wingman in Practice mode if you just want to shoot bots.
CS:GO/CS2 Skins in Wingman
Since this game mode is not the same as Competitive or Premier, some players were worried that their skins wouldn’t display correctly in Wingman. Do not worry, your entire inventory with all your beautiful skins will be the same for every game mode. If your inventory is covered in dust and spider web, then you should definitely check out the amazing deals in our store to grab some fresh pistols, rifles, knives and agent skins. Skin.Land will help you shine on the Wingman servers at all times.
