AK-47 | Case Hardened (Well-Worn)
The AK-47 | Case Hardened (Well-Worn) is a Classified rifle skin in color case-hardened steel, with a blue-gold-silver pattern that differs on every copy. Well-Worn is a cheaper route into the skin, and the metallic finish still keeps the pattern front and center despite the added scuffing.
Design
At its core this is color case-hardened steel, echoing the real-world process of heating metal with wood charcoal at high temperatures until the surface takes on a marbled blue-gold-silver look. Valve made the finish in-house, and it bears a tongue-in-cheek in-game line: "A little color never hurt anyone."
AK-47 | Case Hardened (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
The finish runs across the full 0.00–1.00 float range, and Well-Worn sits well toward the rougher end of it, showing clearer scuffing and some paint thinning across the magazine and edges. Even so, the dense case-hardened pattern hides it better than most finishes would, and the paint seed still outweighs the exterior — a blue-heavy Well-Worn can be worth far more than a plain but cleaner copy.
AK-47 | Case Hardened Rarity
Rarity: Classified, the pink tier. It sits directly below Covert as the second-highest of the standard weapon grades, and it's a genuinely uncommon grade to unbox.
AK-47 | Case Hardened Case and Collection
The skin sits in The Arms Deal Collection and is unboxed from the CS:GO Weapon Case, released alongside the Arms Deal update in August 2013 — the first weapon case the game ever had. With the Classified tier dropping around 3.2% of the time and that original case long out of the active drop pool, supply is fixed, so most copies now change hands on the market rather than getting unboxed.
AK-47 | Case Hardened Patterns
No two copies of this finish share a pattern, since a random paint seed governs how the blue, gold and silver spread across the body. Seed 661 sits alone at the top, identifiable by a golden mark near the rear sight, with a Tier-1 group — 179, 151, 321, 387, 670, 955 — just behind it. Genuine blue gems from that list are extremely rare and sell for five to six figures; a typical Well-Worn copy carries an ordinary pattern instead.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ AK-47 | Case Hardened, which adds a confirmed-kill counter as a separate, scarcer pull from the CS:GO Weapon Case; that counter is permanent and follows the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons originate only from Major-tournament packages, and The Arms Deal Collection has never been one.
AK-47 | Case Hardened Price
Well-Worn sits toward the lower end of the wear ladder, below Field-Tested, making it one of the cheaper ways into this premium AK finish. Pattern still rules the price — a strong blue seed can lift a Well-Worn copy well above the usual range for its grade. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How worn does the Well-Worn Case Hardened look?
Noticeably more than Field-Tested, with visible scratches and paint thinning on the magazine and edges — though the busy case-hardened pattern keeps it more legible than a worn single-color skin would. It's still clearly recognizable in-game, and a strong blue seed does plenty to offset the extra wear.
Which is the best AK-47 | Case Hardened pattern?
Seed 661 is the number-one pattern by a wide margin, thanks to its near-total blue coverage and a golden mark by the rear sight. Behind it sits a Tier-1 group of seeds — 179, 151, 321, 387, 670 and 955 — that also draws strong premiums. All of these are extremely rare and worth five to six figures; most copies, including most Well-Worn ones, are ordinary patterns.
What's the cheapest way to get the Case Hardened look?
Battle-Scarred is the lowest-priced grade, with Well-Worn just above it, and both cost far less than the cleaner conditions. Since the finish disguises wear so well, a lower grade with a decent pattern is a smart budget pick — you keep the signature look while paying the least for the exterior.
