AK-47 | Neon Rider (Minimal Wear)
The AK-47 | Neon Rider (Minimal Wear) is a Covert rifle skin with a synthwave, '80s-arcade design — glowing pink and teal over black geometric shapes, a helmeted biker on the magazine and receiver, and a neon starburst sunset. Minimal Wear keeps almost all of that brightness intact, one small step down from Factory New for a lower price.
Design
Neon Rider goes full synthwave: hot pink and magenta bounce off teal and cyan with deep purple, all laid over black geometric shapes, and a helmeted biker rolls down the magazine and receiver inside a neon starburst sunset. Deep violet fills the muzzle and controls. Puffin, SIR, and Medic! built this community design, which carries a fitting in-game line: "Two parts Trapper Keeper, three parts synthesizer."
AK-47 | Neon Rider (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
At Minimal Wear the finish picks up only the faintest scuffing along the edges, and the neon still reads close to its brightest. You keep nearly the full glow of the magenta and cyan against the black base, with the biker artwork sharp and the starburst crisp. For players who want that near-glowing look without paying the Factory New premium, this grade is the smart middle ground.
AK-47 | Neon Rider Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red tier and the top grade for standard weapon skins. Covert AKs are the finishes players chase hardest, and Neon Rider lands squarely in that bracket.
AK-47 | Neon Rider Case and Collection
Belonging to The Horizon Collection, the AK-47 | Neon Rider is unboxed from the Horizon Case, which arrived with the "A New Horizon" update in August 2018. The Covert tier as a whole lands about 0.64% of the time from the case, making it by far the rarest pull in the box — so most copies are bought on the market rather than unboxed.
AK-47 | Neon Rider Patterns
There's no random pattern variation on the AK-47 | Neon Rider — the biker, the neon starburst, and the geometric shapes land the same way on every copy, so no paint seed or "blue gem" is worth hunting. Wear and float are the only things that set one Neon Rider apart from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ AK-47 | Neon Rider is available and adds a confirmed-kill counter; it's a rarer, pricier drop from the Horizon Case than the standard skin, and its counter is permanent, staying with the item when it's traded or sold. No Souvenir version exists — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and Neon Rider was never part of a Major drop.
AK-47 | Neon Rider Price
Minimal Wear sits just below Factory New on the price ladder while keeping nearly the same electric look, which makes it one of the better-value ways into the skin. It's a premium finish within the AK-47 lineup that saves you money without dimming the neon much at all. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Minimal Wear worth it over Factory New?
For most buyers, yes. Minimal Wear keeps almost all of the neon glow while costing less than the pristine grade, and the faint edge scuffing is hard to spot in-game. Factory New is the pick if you want the absolute brightest copy, but Minimal Wear captures nearly the same look for a friendlier price.
Does Minimal Wear still look bright?
Yes. The neon intensity reads strongest on cleaner exteriors, and Minimal Wear is close enough to the top that the magenta and cyan stay vivid against the black base. Only the faintest wear shows along the edges, leaving the biker and starburst artwork crisp and the overall glow well intact.
Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Neon Rider?
Its neon-on-black palette suits a bright, high-contrast synthwave loadout, so gloves with pink, teal, or purple accents work best — a cyan or magenta pair echoes the starburst, while dark wraps with neon detailing keep the '80s-arcade vibe. Pair it with other vivid, colorful skins rather than muted ones for a cohesive look.
