AK-47 | Rat Rod (Factory New)

AK-47 | Rat Rod (Factory New)

The AK-47 | Rat Rod (Factory New) is a Restricted rifle skin with a rusty, weather-beaten hot-rod body — its original blue topcoat painted over, etched into, and worn away like something dragged out of a wasteland junkyard. Factory New is the cleanest grade this skin comes in, so it shows that distressed finish at its sharpest and most deliberate.

Design

Rat Rod wears a rugged, automotive look: recovered from a wasteland junkyard, its original blue topcoat has been painted over, etched into, and weathered away, leaving a rusty, weather-beaten surface. It's a community design by DasDas, Des, and Mia, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "Nowhere to run."

AK-47 | Rat Rod (Factory New) Float and Wear

This finish runs a float range of 0.00–1.00. Because Factory New sits at the bottom of the float scale, the distressed finish reads exactly as the artists intended — the painted-over rust and etching stay controlled rather than muddied by extra scuffing. It's worth noting this skin is built to look weathered anyway, so the difference between exteriors is subtler here than on a clean design. Even so, this is the top grade and the most pristine way to own the Rat Rod.

AK-47 | Rat Rod Rarity

Rarity: Restricted — the purple tier, sitting in the middle of the standard weapon grades, above Mil-Spec and just below Classified. It's a moderately uncommon grade to pull from a case.

AK-47 | Rat Rod Case and Collection

The AK-47 | Rat Rod is part of The Shattered Web Collection and drops from the Shattered Web Case. As a Restricted skin it lands roughly 15.98% of the time from the case, making it one of the more attainable grades to unbox from that container — though most copies still change hands on the market rather than straight from an opening.

AK-47 | Rat Rod Patterns

The AK-47 | Rat Rod has no random pattern variation — the weathered, painted-over design sits the same way on every copy, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt. Wear and float are the only things that separate one Rat Rod from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ AK-47 | Rat Rod exists and drops from the Shattered Web Case, adding a confirmed-kill counter; it's a rarer, pricier drop than the standard skin, and the counter is permanent, carrying over when the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir version — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and the Shattered Web Collection has never been a Major drop.

AK-47 | Rat Rod Price

Factory New sits at the top of the Rat Rod price ladder, since it's the top grade the skin comes in — a step above Minimal Wear and the rest. It's an affordable mid-tier pick within the AK-47 lineup, so the best condition stays reachable rather than grail money. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Factory New worth the premium over Minimal Wear?

It depends on how much the top grade matters to you. Because the Rat Rod is designed to look weathered already, the visual jump from Minimal Wear to Factory New is smaller than on a polished skin, so many buyers happily drop a grade to save money. Factory New is really about owning the best condition rather than a dramatic difference in looks.

Does the Rat Rod still look rusty at Factory New?

Yes. The rust, etching, and painted-over topcoat are part of the finish itself, not float wear, so a Factory New copy still reads as a battered wasteland hot-rod. What the grade gives you is that distressed art at its crispest and most intentional, without extra scuffing muddying the details.

Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Rat Rod?

Its rusty, earthy palette suits a warm, grungy loadout, so brown, tan, or muted orange gloves work best — something worn and industrial rather than bright or flashy. A pair of Hydra or Broken Fang gloves in earth tones keeps the junkyard hot-rod vibe consistent across your kit.
