AWP | Medusa (Minimal Wear)
The AWP | Medusa (Minimal Wear) is a Covert sniper rifle skin — the legendary teal gorgon finish, here in near-flawless condition. Minimal Wear keeps almost all of the artwork's detail and color for a step below the top grade's price.
Design
Built by Valve around a single arresting image, the Medusa lays the severed head of the gorgon — snakes twisting out of her hair — across the rifle in cool teal and turquoise. Valve's own description keeps it plain: the weapon has been custom painted with the image of a gorgon. A suitably menacing in-game quote rounds it off: "If you can see me, you're already dead."
AWP | Medusa (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
At Minimal Wear the gorgon artwork stays vivid and the teal holds its saturation, with only trace wear that's hard to notice during a match. It sits just under Factory New on the scale, offering nearly the same presentation. For most buyers who want the design looking its best without paying the absolute peak, this is the grade that makes sense.
AWP | Medusa Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red, highest-grade tier of standard weapon skins, ranking above Classified. Covert finishes are the scarcest pulls in their pool, and few the AWP has ever had are as coveted as the Medusa.
AWP | Medusa Case and Collection
Part of The Gods and Monsters Collection, the Medusa arrived with Operation Bloodhound on May 26, 2015. No weapon case holds it — Covert skins from this collection come to players via rare in-game drops and Trade Up Contracts instead of openings, which keeps supply thin and values high. The collection left active circulation long ago, so almost every copy now trades on the market.
AWP | Medusa Patterns
There's no random pattern variation on the Medusa — the gorgon artwork lands identically on every copy, so no paint seed, phase, or blue gem exists to chase. Copies differ only by wear and float, which makes the exterior the single biggest factor in how any given Medusa looks and what it sells for.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak Medusa exists. StatTrak versions originate from weapon cases, and since this finish was never placed in one, its confirmed-kill counter simply can't be. A Souvenir Medusa is out as well — Souvenir skins come only through Major-tournament souvenir packages, and this finish has never featured in any.
AWP | Medusa Price
Minimal Wear ranks second only to Factory New on the Medusa's ladder — a high-end, grail-tier price that still comes in under the top exterior. It's the value pick among the premium grades, the one for buyers who want the look without the very steepest cost. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Minimal Wear Medusa worth it over Factory New?
For most buyers, yes. Minimal Wear looks almost identical to Factory New in-game — the teal and snake detail read the same at a glance — yet it costs meaningfully less. Factory New is the choice for collectors chasing the perfect copy; Minimal Wear is the smarter buy if you mainly want to run the skin.
Is the Medusa a good investment?
It has long been treated as one of the AWP's blue-chip grails. Scarce supply from a discontinued, case-free collection and steady collector demand have kept it near the top of the market for years. As with any high-end skin, prices move, so nothing is guaranteed — but few AWP finishes carry its reputation.
Which gloves go with the Medusa?
Lean into its cool palette. Teal, turquoise, or blue-toned gloves echo the gorgon's coloring for a matched look, and green pairs work well too. If you'd rather let the AWP be the star, neutral gray or black wraps keep all the focus on the artwork without competing with it.
