AWP | Queen's Gambit (Minimal Wear)

The AWP | Queen's Gambit (Minimal Wear) is a Covert sniper skin — the regal royal-blue-and-gold finish with its hand-painted chess queen, here with only the faintest signs of handling. Minimal Wear keeps the ornate artwork nearly untouched while sitting a notch below the top Factory New price.

Design

A community submission from the artist Endrit, the Queen's Gambit is custom painted in royal blue and gold, with a chess queen hand-decorated in front of the butt stock. The whole treatment goes for a regal, heraldic feel built on fine detail rather than busy graphics, and it comes paired with a fitting in-game line: "Every shot is a royal decree of power and precision."

AWP | Queen's Gambit (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear

At Minimal Wear the queen artwork stays richly detailed, the blue and gold holding strong with only trace wear along the extreme edges. It's a half-step down from Factory New that most eyes struggle to tell apart, which makes it a favorite for buyers who want near-top condition without paying the absolute peak of the range.

AWP | Queen's Gambit Rarity

Rarity: Covert — the red tier and the highest of the standard weapon rarity grades. On the AWP, that ranks the Queen's Gambit among the single most coveted skins in the game, occupying the most exclusive slot a weapon can hold.

AWP | Queen's Gambit Case and Collection

The Queen's Gambit is a finish from The Dead Hand Collection, unboxed from the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal case. Being a Covert, it's the scarcest grade in the set — the Covert tier comes in around 0.64% (shared across the tier's skins) — so pulling one is uncommon, and the majority of copies change hands on the market instead.

AWP | Queen's Gambit Patterns

There's no random pattern variation on the Queen's Gambit — the queen and the blue-and-gold layout land the same way on every copy, so no paint seed or blue-gem chase applies. Float and wear are all that tell one apart from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

No StatTrak Queen's Gambit was ever made — StatTrak weapons come from cases that include a StatTrak variant, and this finish never shipped as one. A Souvenir version doesn't exist either, since Souvenir weapons are produced only from Major-tournament souvenir packages and neither The Dead Hand Collection nor its case was ever a Major drop.

AWP | Queen's Gambit Price

Minimal Wear sits just below Factory New near the top of the ladder — still a premium, high-end AWP, but a meaningful saving over the flawless grade for a look that's nearly identical. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

How much wear shows at Minimal Wear?

Very little. Expect only the faintest scuffing at the edges and rails, nothing that touches the queen artwork itself. The royal blue and gold hold their full richness, so a Minimal Wear copy reads as near-flawless at any normal viewing distance in a match.

Is Minimal Wear a smart value on the Queen's Gambit?

For most collectors, yes. It looks all but identical to Factory New while costing meaningfully less, so you get the top-tier appearance without paying for the single best float on the market. That gap is why many buyers who want a high-grade copy settle here rather than at Factory New.

Does Minimal Wear look different from Factory New?

Barely. Side by side you might spot marginally more edge wear on Minimal Wear, but the queen motif, the gold tones, and the overall regal impression are essentially the same. The difference is more about the float number and prestige than anything your eye picks up in-game.
