The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened (Field-Tested, FT) is a Restricted pistol skin built around Valve's color case-hardening effect, the same blue-and-gold metal treatment found across the Case Hardened family. Field-Tested is the most common way players run this finish, balancing a recognizable look against an accessible price.

Wood charcoal applied at high temperature gives the slide its case-hardened coloring, a mix of blue and gold that never repeats between copies. Valve is credited as the finish's designer, and it carries the line "A little color never hurt anyone" in the game's files.

Is Field-Tested a good grade for this finish?
Yes — since the case-hardened pattern isn't affected by wear, Field-Tested shows the same blue-and-gold coloring as Factory New for a noticeably lower price. The trade-off is some light scuffing on close inspection, which most buyers barely notice compared to the pattern itself.
Which pattern should I chase if I want value?
