MAC-10 | Case Hardened (Battle-Scarred)

MAC-10 | Case Hardened (Battle-Scarred)

The MAC-10 | Case Hardened (Battle-Scarred) is a Restricted SMG finish with a steel, blue, and gold marbled patina from a simulated case-hardening process, here in its roughest available state. It's the cheapest entry point into this finish for buyers focused on price over polish.

Design

Rather than a painted design, the coloring comes from case-hardening the metal with wood charcoal at high heat, leaving a swirl of blue, gold, and gunmetal that's different on every copy. It's a Valve-made finish carrying the flavor text "A little color never hurt anyone."

MAC-10 | Case Hardened (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

Float runs the complete 0.00 to 1.00 range for this finish, and Battle-Scarred occupies the top end of it — the heaviest wear the skin reaches. Expect deep scuffing and worn patches across the receiver, though the base blue-gold-steel marbling still peeks through in places. Since the float cap here goes all the way to 1.00, this is as rough as the finish gets, unlike some MAC-10 finishes that stop short of full wear.

MAC-10 | Case Hardened Rarity

Rarity: Restricted, the purple tier sitting between Mil-Spec and Classified. Even at this wear grade, the rarity classification itself doesn't change — it's still an uncommon pull.

MAC-10 | Case Hardened Case and Collection

The finish is drawn from The 2021 Dust 2 Collection, which launched with Operation Riptide in September 2021. No case is tied to it, so regular copies come mainly from trade-up contracts or market purchases. Souvenir copies started with the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and have continued through packages from subsequent Majors.

MAC-10 | Case Hardened Patterns

Pattern seed still decides the balance of gray, gold, and blue on a Battle-Scarred copy, and a heavily blue roll is still a "blue gem" worth seeking even at this wear — though the heavy scuffing can make judging the exact color mix harder by eye. No specific seed numbers are confirmed, so treat any color claims about individual copies as unverified until you check the item yourself.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There is no StatTrak edition of this finish. It exists as a regular finish and a Souvenir finish, with Souvenir supply limited to Major-tournament packages starting at Stockholm 2021 and expanded by later Majors.

MAC-10 | Case Hardened Price

Battle-Scarred is the most affordable grade on this finish's price ladder, the entry point for buyers who want the case-hardened look at the lowest cost within a premium-tier finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does Battle-Scarred hide the case-hardened pattern completely?

No, but it does make it harder to judge precisely. The overall color balance of steel, gold, and blue is still visible, just with heavier scuffing layered on top, so a striking seed can still stand out even on a rough copy.

Why does Battle-Scarred reach full wear on this finish?

Because the float range on this finish runs the entire 0.00 to 1.00 scale with no cap, Battle-Scarred copies can hit the maximum wear the game allows, unlike finishes with a capped float that stay milder even at their worst grade.

Is Battle-Scarred a smart budget pick here?

If price is the priority, yes. You still get a recognizable case-hardened pattern for the lowest cost on the ladder, though buyers who care more about surface condition should step up to Well-Worn or Field-Tested instead.
