MAC-10 | Gold Brick (Battle-Scarred)
The MAC-10 | Gold Brick (Battle-Scarred) is the most worn grade of this Restricted gold finish, giving budget shoppers the cheapest entry into the design. It trades a polished look for the lowest price on the skin's ladder.
Design
Valve's gold coating is meant to shimmer and expose the metal's texture rather than hide it, a bold, luxurious style that holds up conceptually even in a rougher state. The flavor line "All that glitters..." still applies, wear or no wear.
MAC-10 | Gold Brick (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At the top of the skin's 0–0.70 float range, Battle-Scarred shows heavy scuffing, grime, and a dulled, patchy version of the gold shimmer across the whole body. Because the float caps at 0.70 rather than a full 1.0, though, it never reaches the most extreme wear some other skins hit — the gold tone stays visible even here.
MAC-10 | Gold Brick Rarity
Rarity: Restricted, the purple tier — an uncommon grade to pull regardless of how worn the individual copy ends up.
MAC-10 | Gold Brick Case and Collection
This finish sits in The Ancient Collection, which arrived with Operation Broken Fang in December 2020, and it isn't tied to a weapon case at all — it's obtained via collection drops or trade-up contracts. Restricted-grade skins make up roughly 15.98% of the collection's drop pool.
MAC-10 | Gold Brick Patterns
The gold artwork is fixed on every copy no matter the paint seed, so there's no rare pattern or "blue gem" version to chase at any wear level. Float and wear grade are the only real differentiators.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's no StatTrak Gold Brick at any grade. A Souvenir edition does exist, first distributed in the Stockholm 2021 Ancient Souvenir Package with more Major-tournament packages added since. This page describes the regular finish, not a Souvenir copy.
MAC-10 | Gold Brick Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade on the Gold Brick's ladder, the entry-level way to own the design for buyers prioritizing price over surface condition. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Gold Brick still recognizable as gold?
Yes. Even with heavy scuffing and grime, the underlying gold tone comes through clearly in-game, since the float only caps at 0.70 rather than the full extreme. It just lacks the shine of the cleaner grades.
Why isn't Battle-Scarred more beat-up looking?
Because this finish's float never rises above 0.70, its Battle-Scarred copies stop short of the roughest wear other skins can reach at a full 1.0 cap. That keeps even the cheapest grade here more visually intact than you might expect.
Is Battle-Scarred worth it for a grail-tier skin like this?
If owning the Gold Brick design matters more to you than showing it off in mint condition, yes — it's the most affordable way onto a high-end finish. Buyers chasing top-tier resale value or a pristine look should look at Factory New or Minimal Wear instead.
