MAG-7 | Chainmail (Field-Tested)
The MAG-7 | Chainmail (Field-Tested) is an Industrial Grade shotgun skin with a chainmail weave over a silver base, in black and gray. Field-Tested is the most worn grade this finish reaches, adding honest wear at the lowest price of the three.
Design
The Chainmail is a Valve finish with a historical bent: a semi-transparent chainmail hydrographic over a silver base coat, letting the metal show through the black-and-gray links for a plated, armored feel. It ships with a line about The Phoenix and the fierce loyalty of Naomi.
MAG-7 | Chainmail (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Field-Tested runs a float of 0.15 to 0.22. Because the finish is capped at 0.22, this is the worst grade it comes in — there's no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred — so even the roughest copies stay milder than a typical worn skin. Scratches show across the body now, but the silver base and chainmail links still carry the look clearly.
MAG-7 | Chainmail Rarity
Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier among the standard weapon grades, just above Consumer. It's a common finish, which keeps it one of the easier skins in the collection to obtain.
MAG-7 | Chainmail Case and Collection
The Chainmail comes from The Norse Collection, launched with Operation Shattered Web in November 2019. No weapon case produces it — the regular finish circulates through the collection rather than unboxing, which is why supply behaves the way it does on the market.
MAG-7 | Chainmail Patterns
There's no pattern lottery on this finish. The chainmail weave prints the same way on every copy, so the paint seed does nothing and no blue-gem example exists to look for. Two Chainmails differ from each other only in wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak variant exists for the Chainmail — those are created within cases, and this finish was never included in one. It has no Souvenir form either; Souvenir copies come out of Major-tournament packages, and since the Chainmail was never distributed that way, only the standard finish is on offer.
MAG-7 | Chainmail Price
Field-Tested is the most affordable grade of the finish, priced under both cleaner tiers while keeping the armor weave recognizable — the easiest entry into this premium Industrial-grade MAG-7. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Why is there no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred Chainmail?
The finish is float-capped at 0.22, and the game never rolls a copy above that. Well-Worn starts at 0.38, so it and Battle-Scarred simply can't exist here — Field-Tested is the most worn grade the skin reaches, and even it stays fairly mild because of the low cap.
Does the Field-Tested Chainmail look worn?
A little, but not much. The 0.22 cap keeps overall wear modest, and the busy chainmail weave helps disguise scratches, so a Field-Tested copy still shows its silver base and interlocking links clearly. From gameplay distance it reads as a detailed armor finish rather than a battered one.
Is Field-Tested the best value Chainmail?
For most buyers, yes. It's the cheapest of the three grades yet keeps the armored look legible thanks to the float cap and the disguising weave. Minimal Wear and Factory New look a touch sharper, but Field-Tested delivers the bulk of the finish's character for the lowest outlay.
