Nova | Predator (Field-Tested)
The Nova | Predator (Field-Tested, FT) is a Consumer Grade shotgun skin with a brown-and-green zebra-stripe spray pattern. Field-Tested is the most common way to own it, adding some honest wear to a camo design that carries it well.
Design
At its heart the finish is a spray-painted zebra stripe in earthy brown and green, giving the Nova a naturalistic, woodland-camo appearance instead of a busy graphic. It's a Valve-made design that relies on its muted tactical colors to define the look.
Nova | Predator (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
With the finish running float 0.06 to 0.80, Field-Tested occupies the middle of that band. Light scuffing appears on the edges and the pump, but the busy stripe pattern keeps most of it from standing out, so the shotgun still reads well in-game. It's the everyday grade — a solid look at the lowest common price.
Nova | Predator Rarity
Rarity: Consumer Grade — the white tier at the base of the standard weapon grades. It's the most plentiful band in the game, which is why this finish is so easy to find and stays cheap regardless of wear.
Nova | Predator Case and Collection
The finish comes from The Dust 2 Collection, introduced with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update in November 2013. That collection never shipped inside a weapon case, so its regular skins are obtained via collection drops and traded on the open market instead of being pulled from a case.
Nova | Predator Patterns
Nothing about the layout is random. The zebra stripe is a fixed design that repeats the same on every copy, so there's no paint seed to gamble on and no rare-pattern payoff to look for. The only real differences between two examples are their wear level and float reading.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's no StatTrak variant, since StatTrak is only stamped on finishes minted inside weapon cases and Predator has always been a Dust 2 Collection drop. A Souvenir version, however, is out there — it debuted in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and reappeared in later Major souvenir packages, so the skin exists as both a regular finish and a tournament Souvenir.
Nova | Predator Price
Field-Tested is one of the cheapest widely stocked grades, sitting below Minimal Wear (MW) and offering the camo design at its best value. Within an already budget Consumer Grade finish, it's about as low-cost as a decent-looking copy gets. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Predator look worn?
Only mildly. Field-Tested adds scuffing to the edges and pump, but the busy zebra pattern masks most of it, so the shotgun still looks presentable in a match. It's the grade to pick if you want the woodland-camo design without paying up for a near-mint surface.
Is Field-Tested the best value Predator?
For most buyers, yes. It costs less than Minimal Wear while keeping the pattern readable thanks to the wear-hiding stripes, and it's the grade most often listed. Well-Worn (WW) and Battle-Scarred (BS) are cheaper still if you're happy to take on heavier scuffing for the lowest possible price.
What does the Predator design look like?
It's a spray-painted zebra-stripe pattern in earthy brown and green tones — a naturalistic camo rather than a stylized graphic. The muted woodland colors give the Nova a tactical, outdoorsy feel, which is why the finish appeals to players building a natural or military-themed loadout.
