Nova | Ranger (Battle-Scarred)

Nova | Ranger (Battle-Scarred)

The Nova | Ranger (Battle-Scarred) is a Mil-Spec Nova shotgun skin with a brush-stroke hydrographic body and heat-transfer decals, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into the finish, trading surface polish for the lowest entry price.

Design

Stripped to essentials, Ranger is a brush-stroke hydrographic base finished with heat-transfer decals — a layered, tactical look that already leans weathered, so heavy wear suits it. Designed by community artist PoignantEnvy, it ships with a knowing in-game line: "Who's keeping score?"

Nova | Ranger (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

The finish uses the full 0.00–1.00 float range, and Battle-Scarred occupies the top of it. Damage shows openly here — heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body — but the busy hand-painted base keeps the decals from vanishing entirely. Because the float scale runs the whole way up, this is genuinely the roughest the Ranger gets.

Nova | Ranger Rarity

Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the blue tier that sits at the foot of the standard weapon grades. It's the most common band to unbox, which is exactly why this Nova is so cheap to buy.

Nova | Ranger Case and Collection

This finish comes from The Falchion Collection and is unboxed from the Falchion Case, which launched together with Operation Bloodhound in May 2015. The Mil-Spec tier drops most often — around 79.92% of the time, a rate shared across the tier — so supply stays deep and the price stays low.

Nova | Ranger Patterns

Because the brush strokes and decals sit the same way on every copy, the Ranger has no random pattern variation — no paint seed or "blue gem" to go looking for. Wear and float are the only things that set one copy apart from the next.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ Ranger is also out there, minted in the Falchion Case, adding a confirmed-kill counter to the standard skin; the counter is permanent and never gets wiped through trades or sales. No Souvenir version was ever produced, since Souvenir weapons come solely from Major-tournament packages and this case never appeared at a Major.

Nova | Ranger Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of an already budget finish — the entry-level way to run the Ranger design for players who prize price over condition. If you just want the tactical look on your Nova for as little as possible, this is the way in. Available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is the Battle-Scarred Ranger still recognizable?

Yes. Even with heavy scratching and paint loss, the busy brush-stroke base and decals keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting obvious wear for the lowest price, not losing the tactical look — the artwork still comes through clearly on the body.

Why buy Battle-Scarred over a cleaner grade?

Purely for the price. It's the cheapest slot on an already cheap finish, ideal if you want a Ranger in your loadout and don't care about a spotless surface. Since the base already reads rugged, the extra wear fits the theme rather than ruining it — you lose polish, not identity.

Does this finish reach the worst possible wear?

It can get quite rough. The Ranger's float runs the full 0.00–1.00 scale, so Battle-Scarred copies can sit at the very high end and show heavy damage. Unlike float-capped skins, nothing here holds the wear back, though the busy artwork still keeps the design legible.
