Nova | Tempest (Minimal Wear)
The Nova | Tempest (Minimal Wear) is a Mil-Spec Nova finish carrying a blue wave-and-cloud storm motif. Minimal Wear keeps the hydrographic looking almost untouched, with only the faintest trace of handling.
Design
The finish covers the Nova in a blue wave-and-cloud hydrographic, a stormy seaside scene printed across the body instead of a flat coat or decal. Designed by Valve, it plays to its theme with the line "A storm is coming."
Nova | Tempest (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
Across the finish's tight 0.06–0.22 float band, Minimal Wear sits just above Factory New. Wear at this grade is barely perceptible — a hint of softening at most — while the blue print holds its saturation across the body. For most buyers it looks all but identical to the top grade for a touch less.
Nova | Tempest Rarity
Classified as Mil-Spec Grade, this is the blue tier — the first of the colored weapon grades, sitting above the plain base tiers. It's a common, competition-ready classification that fits easily into any loadout.
Nova | Tempest Case and Collection
This is a Bravo Collection finish, unboxed from the Operation Bravo Case that launched with Operation Bravo in September 2013. The Mil-Spec tier makes up the bulk of the case's drops at about 79.92% (shared across the tier), so it was the easiest thing to pull — but with the case retired, supply is now fixed.
Nova | Tempest Patterns
There's no pattern lottery here. The finish is fixed, meaning the paint seed leaves the artwork alone and every copy wears the wave-and-cloud print identically. No premium seed or blue gem exists to chase, so the wear grade is the only real variable.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak Tempest from the Operation Bravo Case; it adds a permanent kill counter that stays with the item through every trade and sale. No Souvenir version was ever made, since Souvenir weapons are produced only from Major-tournament packages and this finish never featured in one.
Nova | Tempest Price
Minimal Wear sits a step under Factory New on this finish's ladder while looking nearly the same, which makes it a sensible pick within the range. It still lands at the premium end of the Nova catalog overall. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Minimal Wear worth it over Factory New?
For most buyers, yes. The wave-and-cloud print holds its color so well that Minimal Wear looks close to Factory New, and it costs a step less. Since the finish only has three grades and a low float cap, the visual gap between the two is small — Factory New is worth it mainly if you want the absolute top grade.
Does the Tempest show wear easily?
Not much within its range. The finish is float-capped at 0.22, so it never reaches the heavier wear grades at all — even the roughest copy stays relatively mild. At Minimal Wear any scuffing is faint, and the blue storm print reads consistent and deep across the whole body.
Why are there only three wear grades?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.22. That ceiling sits inside the Field-Tested band, so the game can't roll a copy worn enough to qualify as Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred. The result is a short ladder — Factory New, Minimal Wear, and Field-Tested — with no heavily battered versions in existence.
