Sawed-Off | Rust Coat (Field-Tested)
The Sawed-Off | Rust Coat (Field-Tested) is an Industrial Grade shotgun skin with rusted exterior surfaces by design. Field-Tested is a common, sensibly priced way to own it, with wear that blends naturally into an already oxidized finish.
Design
This finish makes corrosion the whole aesthetic: brown-and-orange rust covers the Sawed-Off's exterior while it stays fully operational — grime as a feature, not a flaw. It's a Valve creation, and it comes with a fitting in-game line: "Some people don't need to hide how dirty their deeds are."
Sawed-Off | Rust Coat (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Field-Tested lands in the middle of the finish's 0.00–0.80 float range. Any scratching from the wear grade folds straight into the existing rust, so the added damage is genuinely hard to pick out and the oxidized look holds up well. This is the grade most players default to — the balance of looks and price.
Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Rarity
Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier, one rung up from the base Consumer Grade. It's a common rarity, but a step scarcer than the entry level, which keeps demand for the finish steady.
Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Case and Collection
This finish is part of The Cobblestone Collection, which launched with Operation Breakout in July 2014. No weapon case mints it — copies come from the collection and its Souvenir packages, so the market holds most of the supply.
Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Patterns
Rust Coat runs no pattern lottery — the oxidation is placed the same on every copy, so there's no seed or "blue gem" to search for. Wear and float are all that tell one copy from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You won't find a StatTrak version, since StatTrak is produced through weapon cases and this finish came from a collection instead. There is a Souvenir version, first issued in the ESL One Cologne 2014 Cobblestone Souvenir Package and later carried by additional Major souvenir packages — this listing, though, is the standard regular finish.
Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Price
Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range, cheaper than the top grades while looking almost identical thanks to the built-in rust — a big part of why it's a popular way into this premium finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Rust Coat look worn?
Not in a way you'd notice. The added scratching disappears into a finish that's rusted on purpose, so a Field-Tested copy looks nearly the same as the higher grades. The oxidized brown-and-orange design stays fully intact at a glance.
Is Field-Tested the best value Rust Coat?
For most buyers, yes. Because the rust masks wear so completely, Field-Tested looks almost like the top grades for noticeably less, and it's easy to find on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred go cheaper still if you want the lowest entry price.
What makes Rust Coat stand out?
Its concept. Rather than paint over the metal, Rust Coat embraces corrosion as the finish — a deliberately rusted shotgun that fits a gritty loadout. Combined with its Cobblestone Souvenir lineage, it's a finish with real character and history behind it.
