Sawed-Off | Rust Coat (Battle-Scarred)

Sawed-Off | Rust Coat (Battle-Scarred)

The Sawed-Off | Rust Coat (Battle-Scarred) is an Industrial Grade shotgun skin with rusted exterior surfaces in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into the oxidized look — and on a rusted finish, heavy wear only adds to the theme.

Design

Rust Coat commits fully to corrosion: brown-and-orange rust blankets the Sawed-Off's exterior while the gun stays fully operational. It's a Valve-made finish, complete with a fitting in-game line: "Some people don't need to hide how dirty their deeds are."

Sawed-Off | Rust Coat (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

Battle-Scarred is the top of the finish's float range, but that range caps at 0.80 rather than the full 1.0 — so even the roughest copies stay a shade milder than a normal Battle-Scarred skin. The heavy scuffing largely merges with the intentional rust, so the design holds together and never reaches the extreme end of the wear scale.

Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Rarity

Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier and one rung above the base Consumer Grade. Common as tiers go, but a step scarcer than the entry level, which keeps interest in the finish alive.

Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Case and Collection

This finish sits in The Cobblestone Collection, which arrived with Operation Breakout in July 2014. It has no weapon case — copies come from the collection and its Souvenir packages instead of unboxing, which is why supply concentrates on the market.

Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Patterns

The rust look has no random roll — its oxidation appears identically on every copy, so there's no seed or "blue gem" to hunt. The only things that set copies apart are wear level and float value.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There's no StatTrak variant, since StatTrak is minted through weapon cases and this finish belongs to a collection rather than a case. A Souvenir version does exist, first appearing in the ESL One Cologne 2014 Cobblestone Souvenir Package and continuing across later Major souvenir packages — but this page is the regular finish, not the Souvenir one.

Sawed-Off | Rust Coat Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the finish — the entry-level way to run the rusted design for players who want the look for as little as possible. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is the Battle-Scarred Rust Coat still recognizable?

Absolutely. The heavy wear blends into a finish that's rusted by design, so the brown-and-orange oxidation reads clearly at a glance in-game — arguably it suits the theme even better here. Battle-Scarred is about the lowest price, and this finish loses very little to it.

Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Rust Coat look completely trashed?

Two reasons. The finish is float-capped at 0.80 rather than the full 1.0, so copies never reach the most extreme wear, and the intentional rust absorbs added damage. Together that keeps the design more cohesive than a heavily worn painted skin would look.

Is Battle-Scarred Rust Coat worth buying?

If you want the rust look for the least money, yes. It's the lowest price point on the finish, and because the design is already oxidized, the wear grade costs you almost nothing in appearance. For a slightly more defined finish, step up to Field-Tested.
