Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Minimal Wear)

Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Minimal Wear)

The Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Minimal Wear) is a Covert shotgun finish showing a hand-painted octopus across an orange field. Minimal Wear keeps the artwork looking crisp while sitting a step below the top grade in price.

Design

Designed by community artist Zaphk, this finish covers the shotgun in a hand-painted octopus, tentacles curling over a warm orange base for a vivid, storybook-monster look. It comes with a short, punchy in-game line: "It has been unleashed."

Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear

With the finish confined to a 0.00–0.40 float range, Minimal Wear sits at the low end just above Factory New. Wear at this grade is faint — a little edge scuffing at most — so the octopus and the orange background still read almost fully intact across the body.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Rarity

Rarity: Covert, the red tier at the top of the standard weapon grades. It's a rare and prized pull, and it stands as the flagship finish for the Sawed-Off.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Case and Collection

Belonging to The Winter Offensive Collection, this finish comes out of the Winter Offensive Weapon Case that launched in December 2013. Covert is the rarest tier in the case at about 0.64% (an odds figure shared across the tier), and since the case has left the active drop pool, supply is capped — most copies are bought on the market.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Patterns

Because the design is fixed, the paint seed has no effect on how a copy looks — the octopus is placed the same way every time, with no blue-gem roll to chase. The only variables separating copies are wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There is a StatTrak The Kraken, which adds a confirmed-kill counter and drops more rarely from the case than the plain version; the counter is permanent and never gets wiped when the item changes hands. No Souvenir variant exists, as Souvenir weapons are minted only from Major-tournament packages and this case never appeared at a Major.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Price

Minimal Wear sits just under Factory New on the ladder, still firmly in high-end, grail-tier territory like the rest of the finish. For buyers who want a near-flawless octopus without paying the very top price, it's the smart step down. Available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

How different does Minimal Wear look from Factory New?

Barely. At Minimal Wear any wear is limited to faint edge scuffing, so the octopus and the orange field look nearly as sharp as Factory New. Since both grades run expensive, the choice usually comes down to how much you're willing to pay for that last bit of condition.

Is The Kraken worth it as an investment?

Many collectors think so. It's a Covert from a discontinued case, so supply can only shrink, and the hand-painted octopus gives it lasting appeal beyond a plain color finish. Prices have historically trended upward, though as with any skin, values can move both ways — nothing is guaranteed.

What's the flavor text on The Kraken?

The in-game caption reads simply "It has been unleashed" — a fitting nod to the mythical sea monster wrapping the shotgun. It's short but evocative, playing directly into the octopus artwork and the finish's name for a bit of extra character.
