SG 553 | Gator Mesh (Factory New)
The SG 553 | Gator Mesh (Factory New) is an Industrial Grade rifle skin sprayed freehand through a mesh-fabric stencil for a textured green look. Factory New shows that mesh texture at its sharpest.
Design
Valve created this finish by spray-painting freehand using mesh fabric as a stencil, leaving a woven, camouflage-like green texture across the SG 553. No flavor text is attached to this finish, so the stenciled pattern is the whole visual story.
SG 553 | Gator Mesh (Factory New) Float and Wear
Float on this finish spans 0 up to 0.60, and Factory New sits at the very bottom of that range. The mesh texture reads with full clarity here, every stenciled thread of the pattern crisp and undamaged — the cleanest the design ever looks.
SG 553 | Gator Mesh Rarity
Rarity: Industrial Grade, the light-blue tier and second from the bottom of the standard rifle-skin ladder. It's a common drop, which typically keeps prices low, though this particular finish bucks that trend.
SG 553 | Gator Mesh Case and Collection
Gator Mesh is part of The Mirage Collection, released in the November 2013 update. There's no weapon case tied to it — the regular finish comes from the collection itself through trade-up or collection drops, separate from the Souvenir line issued at Major tournaments.
SG 553 | Gator Mesh Patterns
The mesh-stencil design is fixed, so it lands the same way on every copy no matter what the underlying pattern index says — there's no seed to chase and nothing like a blue gem here. Only wear and float change how a given copy looks.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's no StatTrak version of Gator Mesh. It does exist as a Souvenir finish, first showing up in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, with numerous later Majors issuing their own souvenir packages too, since Souvenir weapons only ever come from tournament drops.
SG 553 | Gator Mesh Price
Factory New tops the Gator Mesh price ladder, and the finish overall runs at a premium for an Industrial Grade skin thanks to its age and distinct texture. This is the design at its most detailed. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Why does an Industrial Grade skin like Gator Mesh cost a premium?
Age is the main driver — Gator Mesh dates back to November 2013, one of the oldest finishes still tradable, and long-standing demand has pushed its price above what you'd expect from its rarity tier. Rarity alone doesn't set the price here.
When was the Gator Mesh released?
It launched with The Mirage Collection in the November 2013 update, making it one of the earliest SG 553 finishes in the game. It's remained available since, both as a regular finish and through a long line of Souvenir packages.
Does the SG 553 | Gator Mesh have a Souvenir version?
Yes. Souvenir copies date back to the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, with a long run of later Majors issuing their own packages carrying it as well — a separate line from the regular Factory New copy covered here.
