XM1014 | Red Leather (Field-Tested)
The XM1014 | Red Leather (Field-Tested) is a Mil-Spec shotgun finish with its stock and grip wrapped in red leather, now carrying light honest wear. Field-Tested is the most common and affordable way to run this premium design.
Design
Red Leather wraps the shotgun's stock and grip in a rich red hide, a minimalist, premium treatment built on one strong color rather than any decal. The finish is Valve's own work, and it comes with a line of Counter-Strike lore for its in-game text: "Pack your baags. Let's go kill that sonofabitch..."
XM1014 | Red Leather (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
On the finish's 0.00–0.56 scale, Field-Tested spans roughly 0.15–0.38. Here the leather picks up some fading and scuffing along the edges and contact points, though the solid red color absorbs the wear better than a printed graphic would. It stays clearly readable as Red Leather while carrying a lived-in look.
XM1014 | Red Leather Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade — the blue grade, the entry point of the colored weapon tiers and the most frequently seen among them. This finish sits above its tier's usual value, though, driven by steady demand.
XM1014 | Red Leather Case and Collection
Field-Tested Red Leather comes from The Baggage Collection, first released with Operation Breakout in July 2014. No weapon case was ever tied to the collection, so the finish spreads through collection drops and trade-ups rather than case openings, leaving the market as the main source for buyers.
XM1014 | Red Leather Patterns
The design is fixed, which means the red leather wrap sits identically on every copy — there's no seed to reroll and nothing like a blue gem to seek out. Copies are separated purely by their wear condition and float number.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You won't find a StatTrak edition of this finish; StatTrak is minted through cases, and Red Leather's collection has none, so that variant was never issued. There's no Souvenir version to look for either, because Souvenir weapons come exclusively from Major-tournament packages and this finish never appeared in one.
XM1014 | Red Leather Price
Field-Tested lands in the mid-to-lower part of the finish's ladder — cheaper than the two cleanest grades while keeping the leather look fully legible. It's the practical entry point for most buyers into what is still a premium XM1014 finish. Grab it on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How worn does Field-Tested Red Leather look?
Moderately. In the 0.15–0.38 float range the leather picks up some fading and scuffing at the edges and grip, but the solid red color hides this better than a fine graphic would. The wrap stays clearly recognizable, so the shotgun still reads as Red Leather rather than looking heavily damaged.
Is Field-Tested the best value grade?
For most buyers, yes. It costs less than Minimal Wear and Factory New while keeping the red-leather look legible, and it's the most plentiful grade on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper still if you want the lowest entry price into this premium finish and don't mind more wear.
Does the wear ruin the leather look?
No. Because the design is one solid rich color rather than fine detailing, Field-Tested fading blends in and the wrap stays intact at a glance. You get the full Red Leather identity of the skin for noticeably less than the cleaner grades ask.
