CS:GO and CS2 XP Farming

‘The Armory’ update made some noise with all the content Valve have prepared and, ironically, lack thereof. We did not get any new/reworked maps or game modes, but at least Valve spoiled us with a few collections, a brand-new case and even the Charms for our skins. The CS2 playerbase finally got something to be excited about, and the update turned out to be extremely important for the skin-trading branch of our glorious community, as there are tons of visual content to unpack. Unfortunately, a number of players got themselves into trouble by XP farming their battle passes and finding the most ridiculous ways of speeding up the process of earning XP. Here’s what we know about the XP farming in CS2 at the moment.

What is XP in CS2 and How to Get It?

Experience Points, commonly known as XP, are the rewards earned by playing the game which then allows advancing the Battle Pass and earning various prizes and achievements. XP is the integral part of any operation (doesn’t matter if we’re talking about the classic CS:GO operations or The Armory CS2 update), as the amount of it affects the overall Battle Pass progression. Simply put, the more you play, the more rewards you receive. Legitimately, you can earn XP by completing competitive matches, playing casual games and, including deathmatches and war games, getting kills, earning MVPs etc. 

Though it is fun to earn XP through regular games, some players found these methods too slow for their taste, and that’s where the XP farming comes.

How to Farm XP in CS:GO/CS2?

There’s a glitch, a deathmatch server that is disguised as a casual mode server, meaning that the XP you get from each kill is not divided by 5 but rather multiplied by 4, considering that it is considerably harder to get a single kill in Casual mode than in Deathmatch. The only way you can get into these kinds of servers is via invite. You could possibly get 10 stars in about half hour, which is pretty remarkable. However, don’t forget that Valve may start issuing more serious punitive measures, so we would recommend you to not participate in XP farm for your own sake.

Can You Get Banned for Farming XP in CS2?

In a way, yes. You won’t receive a VAC ban and will be able to play freely, but you won’t be able to trade for a whole year. Valve issues these penalties left and right, so avoid XP farming if you’re looking to buy or sell skins in a span of next twelve months. Many CS2 creators who were seen exploiting or demonstrating said exploit in deathmatch XP lobbies received a hefty one-year trading ban. Note that they don’t lose their skins, nor they get banned, but their trading capabilities are now time-restricted. There are speculations around the nature of the trading ban, and some think that these restrictions are being issues only to those with excessive amounts of XP. The culprits also receive the following text stating the reason of their trade limitations: 

“Your trading privileges in Counter-Strike 2 have been suspended for exploiting bugged XP lobbies in Deathmatch on official Counter-Strike 2 servers. Your trading privileges in Counter-Strike 2 will be restored on October …, 2025.”

Alternatively, many players reported over the past week that VAC kicks them out of the game once they’ve been spotted XP farming. This kind of soft ban is usually resolved by reloading the computer, but nonetheless, it’s something to be mindful of. If you’re frightened of losing your trading capabilities for a non-specified term, then you should probably refrain from XP farming until the situation clears up.

Best Way To Farm in CS:GO/CS2
