AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Battle-Scarred)
The AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Battle-Scarred) is a Restricted rifle skin with blue wooden furniture and an iridescent purple body, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into the two-tone finish, trading pristine color for the lowest entry price.
Design
Midnight Laminate is a laminate-style, two-tone finish — the buttstock, handguard, and grip are done in blue, while iridescent purple covers the rest of the AK-47. It leans on layered color and a purple sheen that shifts with the light rather than on decals or busy graphics, and its in-game line is suitably cheeky: "That's one way to get their attention…"
AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the finish wears its damage openly — heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body, and the iridescent purple is worn thin, reading darker and flatter than at cleaner grades. The blue furniture is the last color to hold. This finish is float-capped at 0.75, so it never reaches the extreme end of the wear scale, and the skin stays legible even at its roughest.
AK-47 | Midnight Laminate Rarity
Rarity: Restricted, the purple tier in the middle of the standard weapon grades, above Mil-Spec and below Classified. Common enough to see regularly, it nonetheless outranks the blue Mil-Spec skins.
AK-47 | Midnight Laminate Case and Collection
The AK-47 | Midnight Laminate comes from The Ascent Collection. Its Restricted grade puts it at roughly 16% odds inside the set, and because the skin drops from a collection and not the active case pool, players mostly pick copies up on the market rather than by unboxing.
AK-47 | Midnight Laminate Patterns
Because the blue furniture and iridescent purple body are arranged the same way on each AK-47 | Midnight Laminate, there's no random pattern variation and nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to chase. Wear and float alone separate one copy from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is no StatTrak variant of the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate, because StatTrak weapons come from weapon cases and this skin drops from a collection rather than a case — so a counter was never produced. A Souvenir version doesn't exist either: Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and The Ascent Collection has never been a Major drop.
AK-47 | Midnight Laminate Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run the two-tone design for players who care more about the color than the condition. As a budget-tier AK to begin with, its Battle-Scarred copies are about as affordable as a painted AK finish gets. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Battle-Scarred still recognizable?
Yes. Despite heavy scuffing and a duller, worn-down purple, the blue furniture and the overall two-tone layout keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price, not losing the look of the skin entirely.
Why doesn't Battle-Scarred look completely trashed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.75 rather than the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never hit the most extreme wear the scale allows. The purple loses its shine and the paint thins out, but the two-tone color stays visible, so the skin reads as worn rather than destroyed.
Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate?
Its blue-and-purple palette suits a cool-toned loadout, so blue or purple gloves work best — blue matches the furniture, purple ties to the body. Even at Battle-Scarred the two tones come through, so color-matched gloves and other cool-toned skins still pull the set together.
