AK-47 | Rat Rod (Field-Tested)
The AK-47 | Rat Rod (Field-Tested) is a Restricted rifle skin with a rusty, weather-beaten hot-rod body — its original blue topcoat painted over, etched into, and worn away like something salvaged from a wasteland junkyard. Field-Tested is the most common way to own it, and on a finish this distressed the extra wear barely shows.
Design
The look is pure junkyard automotive — salvaged from a wasteland scrapyard, the AK's original blue topcoat has been painted over, etched, and weathered away into a rusty, battered shell. It's community-made by DasDas, Des, and Mia, and carries the apt flavor line "Nowhere to run."
AK-47 | Rat Rod (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
At Field-Tested the Rat Rod gains light scratching along the edges and magazine, but the finish is designed to look rusted and beaten anyway, so that added wear folds neatly into the artwork instead of standing out. This is the grade most players end up with — the sweet spot between price and looks, since the distressed design shrugs off the extra scuffing.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Rarity
Restricted is the grade here: the purple tier, planted in the middle of the standard weapon grades between Mil-Spec below and Classified above. Pulling one from a case is a moderately uncommon result.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Case and Collection
Belonging to The Shattered Web Collection, the Rat Rod is a Shattered Web Case drop. At about a 15.98% chance, the Restricted tier is one of the more attainable results from that container, even if the bulk of copies are bought on the market instead of unboxed.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Patterns
The Rat Rod's weathered, painted-over artwork sits the same way on each copy, so the finish has no random pattern variation and no paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt for. Only wear and float distinguish one from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can get a StatTrak Rat Rod: it comes from the Shattered Web Case with a confirmed-kill counter, arriving as a rarer and pricier drop than the standard version, and that counter is permanent — it carries over whenever the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir edition, though, because Souvenir weapons only appear in Major-tournament souvenir packages and the Shattered Web Collection has never been a Major drop.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Price
Field-Tested is the value pick of the range — cheaper than the cleaner grades while looking nearly the same thanks to the already-weathered finish. It's an affordable mid-tier AK-47 skin, so this is a low-cost way into the design. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Rat Rod look worn?
Not in a way that hurts it. The Rat Rod is meant to look rusty and beaten, so the light scratching Field-Tested adds simply blends into the finish rather than looking out of place. To most eyes a Field-Tested copy reads the same as a cleaner one, which is why this grade is so popular for the skin.
Is Field-Tested the best value Rat Rod?
For most players, yes. It costs noticeably less than Minimal Wear and Factory New but looks almost identical because the distressed art hides the extra wear. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper still if you want the absolute lowest entry price and don't mind the design leaning even further into its junkyard look.
Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Rat Rod?
Its rusty, earthy palette suits a warm, grungy loadout, so brown, tan, or muted orange gloves work best — something worn and industrial rather than bright or flashy. A pair of Hydra or Broken Fang gloves in earth tones keeps the junkyard hot-rod vibe consistent across your kit.
