M249 | Midnight Palm (Battle-Scarred)
The M249 | Midnight Palm (Battle-Scarred) is an Industrial Grade M249 finish in its most heavily worn state, the black palm fronds and gray-purple camo scuffed and faded. It's the cheapest way into the design, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price.
Design
Midnight Palm keeps its theme simple: black palm-frond silhouettes over a gray-and-purple camo base, a nocturnal, tropical look driven by shadow instead of color. It's a Valve-made finish, tagged in-game with the line "The sign says closed!"
M249 | Midnight Palm (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
Battle-Scarred is the top of the finish's float range, but that range is capped at 0.50 rather than the usual 1.0 — so even the roughest copies never reach the extreme end of the wear scale. Expect heavy scuffing and paint loss across the body, yet the dark camo keeps the palm design more readable than a lighter skin would be at this grade.
M249 | Midnight Palm Rarity
Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier, a common grade near the foot of the standard weapon ladder, positioned just above Consumer. That everyday rarity is what makes even this finish so accessible.
M249 | Midnight Palm Case and Collection
Midnight Palm comes from The 2021 Dust 2 Collection, launched with Operation Riptide in September 2021. Since no weapon case carries it, the finish reaches players through collection drops and resale rather than unboxing, and the market is where copies change hands.
M249 | Midnight Palm Patterns
The layout never varies — palm fronds and camo sit identically on every copy, so the paint seed carries no weight and there's no blue-gem or rare-pattern chase here. Wear and float remain the only things that separate copies of the finish.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak Midnight Palm doesn't exist; StatTrak is minted only through weapon cases, and this finish was never packaged in one. It does have a Souvenir form, though, handed out through Major-tournament souvenir packages from Stockholm 2021 Dust II onward. This page covers the plain, non-Souvenir version.
M249 | Midnight Palm Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the finish — the entry point for players who want the look and don't mind the wear. It's the lowest rung on an already affordable, mid-tier M249 skin. You can grab it on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Midnight Palm still recognizable?
Yes. Even with heavy scuffing, the dark camo base and bold black palm fronds keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear for the lowest price, not losing the look — and this finish handles wear better than most thanks to its shadowy palette.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Midnight Palm look completely trashed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.50 instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never hit the most extreme wear values. Paired with a dark base that hides damage, the design stays more legible here than many lighter-colored skins would at the same grade.
Is the Battle-Scarred the best budget pick?
If rock-bottom price is the goal, yes. It's the cheapest way to own the Midnight Palm design, and the murky camo keeps it looking decent despite the wear. Buyers who want a tidier surface for a little more should step up to Well-Worn or Field-Tested instead.
