Nova | Modern Hunter (Battle-Scarred)
The Nova | Modern Hunter (Battle-Scarred) is a Mil-Spec shotgun skin with a photographic hunting-camo print over a gray body, in its most heavily worn grade. It's the lowest-cost way into the camo design, trading surface condition for the cheapest entry price.
Design
The finish is a real hunting camouflage laid onto the Nova through a photographic hydrographic, so the pattern carries genuine field-camo texture. It's Valve-made, and the low-key gray base gives the shotgun a hard-wearing, outdoors look — a subdued choice that fits a practical, tactical loadout rather than a showy one.
Nova | Modern Hunter (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
This finish is float-capped at 0.80 rather than the full 1.0, so even Battle-Scarred copies stay milder than a skin that runs all the way to the extreme end. Wear is heavy here — plenty of scratching and paint loss across the body — but the camo print keeps the design legible, and the cap means it never looks completely destroyed.
Nova | Modern Hunter Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the light-blue tier that anchors the bottom of the standard weapon grades. It's the most common of all the bands, which helps keep even the priciest Nova finishes within reach at this wear level.
Nova | Modern Hunter Case and Collection
Modern Hunter is a Militia Collection finish, released among the original collections with the Arms Deal update in August 2013. The collection was never paired with a weapon case, so the skin comes to players via collection drops and the market rather than through unboxing.
Nova | Modern Hunter Patterns
No random rolls apply here. The hunting-camo print is a fixed design placed identically on every copy, meaning there's no paint seed to gamble on and no rare pattern to seek out. Two examples differ only in how worn they are and in their exact float reading.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is no StatTrak Modern Hunter in any grade. StatTrak weapons are minted inside cases, and this finish came from The Militia Collection, which had none. Souvenir versions don't exist either, because Souvenir items are produced only through Major-tournament packages and this collection was never distributed at a Major.
Nova | Modern Hunter Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of this finish — the entry-level way to run the camo design for players who care more about the look than a clean surface. If you want the Modern Hunter print for as little as possible, this is the way in. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Modern Hunter still recognizable?
Yes. Even with heavy scratching and paint loss, the busy hunting-camo print keeps the skin clearly identifiable in a match. Battle-Scarred is about accepting obvious wear in exchange for the lowest price rather than losing the design, and the finish holds its character well at this grade.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred version look completely destroyed?
Because the finish caps at 0.80 float instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear a skin can show. Combined with the pattern's ability to absorb scuffing, that cap keeps Modern Hunter more legible here than many lighter finishes would be.
Is Battle-Scarred the cheapest Modern Hunter?
Yes, it's the lowest rung on this finish's price ladder. Battle-Scarred trades surface quality for the smallest outlay, so it's the go-to grade for players who want the camo look on their Nova without spending on condition. Higher grades cost more as the print gets cleaner.
