Sawed-Off | Highwayman (Minimal Wear)
The Sawed-Off | Highwayman (Minimal Wear) is a Restricted shotgun lacquered in black and gold with a scotch thistle motif, an ornate treatment on a close-range weapon. Minimal Wear keeps the gilded detailing looking near-flawless while sitting a step below the top grade in price.
Design
The look reaches for old-world class: a black lacquered frame etched in gold with a scotch thistle motif, decorative in a way most shotgun skins never attempt. Community artist Coridium designed it, and it ships with a wry in-game line — "You don't have to hold your pinky out when pulling the trigger, but it's a nice touch."
Sawed-Off | Highwayman (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
Across the full 0.00–1.00 float range, Minimal Wear falls just above Factory New. At this grade the gold thistle work stays vivid and only the faintest edge wear appears, if any — the dark lacquer makes handling marks hard to catch. It's a smart middle ground for buyers who want the ornate design near-pristine without paying top price.
Sawed-Off | Highwayman Rarity
Rarity: Restricted, the purple band that sits above Mil-Spec in the standard weapon tiers. Being a scarcer pull than the blue grades gives this shotgun a touch more prestige on the market.
Sawed-Off | Highwayman Case and Collection
Highwayman is part of The Vanguard Collection and comes out of the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case, which launched alongside Operation Vanguard in November 2014. Across the case the Restricted tier pulls at about 15.98% (that figure is shared among the tier's skins), and since the case has left active rotation, supply is fixed and market-driven.
Sawed-Off | Highwayman Patterns
This shotgun carries no pattern variation — the black-and-gold thistle artwork sits identically on every copy, so there's no seed or "blue gem" roll to hunt. Wear and float are all that tell one copy from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's a StatTrak™ Highwayman, which adds a confirmed-kill counter and drops from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case as a scarcer, costlier variant; the counter is permanent and never gets wiped through trades or sales. No Souvenir version exists — those are produced solely from Major-tournament packages, and this finish never featured in one.
Sawed-Off | Highwayman Price
Minimal Wear sits just under Factory New on the price ladder, offering nearly the same ornate look for a little less — good value within an affordable mid-tier finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Minimal Wear Highwayman look worn?
Barely. The dark lacquer hides light handling well, so a Minimal Wear copy reads as near-flawless to most eyes, with only faint edge wear on close inspection. The gold thistle detailing stays vivid and fully legible at this grade, regardless of small float differences within the range.
Is Minimal Wear the best value grade?
Often, yes. It looks almost identical to Factory New because the dark lacquer masks minor wear, and it costs a touch less. Field-Tested saves more if you want the lowest reasonable price, but Minimal Wear balances condition and cost well on this ornate finish.
Why is the Highwayman a Restricted skin?
Restricted is the purple rarity tier, one step above Mil-Spec, and it's where Valve slotted this finish within The Vanguard Collection. That places it among the scarcer standard drops — pulled roughly 15.98% of the time as a tier from its case — giving the shotgun a bit more standing than the common blue grades.
