Negev | Prototype (Battle-Scarred)
The Negev | Prototype (Battle-Scarred, BS) is a Mil-Spec Grade machine gun skin, its white-and-red placeholder design shown in the most heavily worn condition available. It's the cheapest way into the finish, trading surface polish for the lowest entry price.
Design
The design is a white coat with red detailing, presented in-game as a temporary paint job applied while the real look is finalized. It's a community creation by ross, complete with the version-stamp line "v1.2.1, PAT. 3422107."
Negev | Prototype (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
This finish is float-capped at 0.70 rather than the full 1.0, so even Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear a skin can show. The damage is still heavy — broad scratching and paint loss, especially visible on the pale white base — but the cap keeps it milder than a Battle-Scarred skin that rolls to 1.0, and the red accents stay readable.
Negev | Prototype Rarity
It's a Mil-Spec Grade skin — the blue tier at the base of the standard weapon grades, the most common rarity in its collection.
Negev | Prototype Case and Collection
Prototype sits in The Prisma 2 Collection, unboxed from the Prisma 2 Case that debuted in March 2020. Across that pool the Mil-Spec tier is the most frequent, at roughly 79.92% of pulls, so supply is abundant and the market is flush with copies at every grade.
Negev | Prototype Patterns
There's no paint-seed lottery on this finish: the white base and red positions are fixed on every copy, so no "blue gem" or rare pattern exists to seek. The only variables between copies are the wear grade and the exact float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak Prototype does exist, minted from the Prisma 2 Case, bringing a confirmed-kill counter along; it's rarer and pricier than the standard drop, and the counter is permanent — it never gets wiped as the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir variant, since Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages and the Prisma 2 Case was never a Major drop.
Negev | Prototype Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of an already affordable finish — the lowest-cost way to run the placeholder design for players who care more about the look than the condition. Available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Prototype still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy wear — which reads clearly on the white base — the red accents keep the design identifiable in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible scratching and paint loss for the lowest price, and the finish's float cap helps it stay legible rather than looking completely destroyed.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Prototype look fully trashed?
Because the finish caps at a float of 0.70 instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never hit the most extreme wear a full-range skin can. That cap keeps the red detailing legible and stops the surface from ever looking totally destroyed, even though the pale base makes wear more obvious here.
Is Battle-Scarred the best-value Prototype?
It's the lowest entry price on an already cheap finish, so it's the pick if budget is your only concern. You get the full placeholder design for the least money, at the cost of clearly visible wear. Buyers who want a cleaner white surface for a little more tend to choose Field-Tested (FT) instead.
