Among the wide variety of maps present throughout Counter-Strike history, only a few have stood the test of time to reappear in every iteration of the game. Dust 2 is one of them—an iconic map in every aspect. Despite being played for over 25 years, it remains a staple even in the professional scene. To succeed here, players must be knowledgeable of the intricate ways to create safe pathways for teammates or block the enemy from entering a bombsite. Utility work is a vital component of Dust 2 gameplay, which is why today’s article explains several popular smoke lineups on this legendary map. We at Skin.Land love this map, even though it is rumored to be removed from the active map pool.

If you were to rush Long, Tunnel or Mid on Dust 2 without any utilities, the chances are that you would see a gray screen in a matter of a few seconds. Aside from serving as a tool for tactical control, smoke grenades also allow players to create a safe path for the entire team in the direction of a bombsite. Compared to many other maps in CS2, the design of Dust has remained unchanged on a large scale for many years. Its design is quite long, and one has to cover a large distance in order to get to the other side of the map, which means that you’re at the mercy of a skilled AWP player. Buy a couple of smokes with your teammates and follow these simple instructions to gain the tactical advantage for your team. Here are the most effective Dust 2 smoke lineups for the current meta:

Dust 2 Smokes FAQ

How do you do a jump-throw smoke in CS2?

A jump-throw releases the grenade at the peak of your jump for a consistent, repeatable arc. Since hitting jump and throw on the exact same frame by hand is tricky, most players bind a single key that jumps and throws together, guaranteeing the lineup lands the same way every time.

How do you practice Dust 2 smoke lineups?

Load Dust 2 in Practice mode with cheats enabled and turn on the grenade trajectory (“Grenade view”) setting so you can see exactly where each smoke lands. Repeat each lineup a few times until the aiming reference feels automatic – about fifteen minutes is enough to memorize the key ones.

What is the most important smoke to learn on Dust 2?

The Mid Doors smoke is the priority pickup on both sides. For Ts it blocks CT vision and opens safe passage through mid, while for CTs the counterpart smoke cuts off pushes coming from T spawn. Master it first, then add the Long and A-site smokes to your arsenal.
