If you were to rush Long, Tunnel or Mid on Dust 2 without any utilities, the chances are that you would see a gray screen in a matter of a few seconds. Aside from serving as a tool for tactical control, smoke grenades also allow players to create a safe path for the entire team in the direction of a bombsite. Compared to many other maps in CS2, the design of Dust has remained unchanged on a large scale for many years. Its design is quite long, and one has to cover a large distance in order to get to the other side of the map, which means that you’re at the mercy of a skilled AWP player. Buy a couple of smokes with your teammates and follow these simple instructions to gain the tactical advantage for your team. Here are the most effective Dust 2 smoke lineups for the current meta:

Dust 2 T Side Smoke Grenades

The attacking side on Dust 2 can shift the game's momentum with just a few well-timed smokes and nades. Often, a single precise smoke is all the T-side needs to guarantee safe passage into a bombsite.

Dust 2 Xbox Smoke

• Approach the wall at the T spawn and aim at the lower left part of the window in front of you

• Jump throw to cover the Xbox with smoke 

Dust 2 Mid Door Smoke

• Mid smoke Dust 2 is one of the most important places one has to know how to cover

• Approach the wall on the T spawn in the middle of the wall

• Aim at the dark spot right to the window

• Perform a jump throw

• The smoke will land directly between the two doors

Dust 2 A Long Smoke

• Approach the corner of the wall and turn towards the double doors

• Aim at the first dark spot above the doors and perform the jump throw

• The Long entrance will be covered with smoke

Dust 2 A Cross Smoke 

• Once you’ve crossed the long doors, go past the blue and aim a bit to the left of the rectangular antenna on Long

• Perform a run throw by running towards it and left-clicking rapidly

• If done correctly, the smoke will cover the entirety of the A cross

Deep CT Smoke / Dust 2 CT Smoke from Long

• There’s a wall to the left of the Long Doors, go up close to the decorative triangular holes in the wall

• Turn to the right in the direction of CT spawn

• Aim a little bit higher than a corner of the building next to the antenna and perform a regular throw

• The smoke will cover the CT spawn entrance towards A site

Dust 2 A Short Smoke / Dust 2 Cat Smoke

• If you managed to enter the A short by covering Xbox, approach the corner of the wall between the gates and the door 

• Turn around and aim directly at the center of the flower on the furthest window 

• Perform a regular throw

• This will cover the boxes on the A site

• If your teammate drops you another smoke grenade, approach the closed gate near the stairs dead in the middle

• Turn to the left and aim at the dent above the window 

• Perform a regular throw that will result in the smoke covering the A short entrance towards the A bombsite

Dust 2 B Doors Smoke / B Window Smoke Dust 2

• In order to safely cover the entrance to the B site, approach the corner outside tunnels 

• Look up and aim at the small dark spot above the big dent in the wall

• Perform a jump throw

• The B doors are now covered with smoke

• If your teammate drops you a smoke grenade to cover the window entrance, then do the following

• Aim at the closest dark spot below the big dent from the exact same spot

• Perform the jump throw 

• After a couple of bounces the smoke will land directly at the window 

Dust 2 CT Side Smoke Grenades

The CT players can easily cut off the incoming threats from Long and Short by mastering a few simple yet effective smoke lineups.

Dust 2 CT Mid Smoke

• To cut off the vision from the T spawn, approach the corner of the wall behind the boxes on CT spawn

• Turn around towards the T spawn and aim at the dark spot on the left “fang” on the wall 

• Perform jump throw

• Voila! 

Dust 2 Cat / Top Mid Smoke

• You can add pressure on the enemy team if they’re boxed in on their spawn by throwing smoke on the top mid

• Approach the corner of the wall behind the boxes on CT spawn

• Turn around towards the T spawn and aim at the upper part of the lamp pole

• Perform a jump throw

Dust 2 CT Long Smoke

• If you want to slow down the T attack, then these smoke lineups are essential

• Approach the Elevator (corner below the plant)

• Aim at the tip of the satellite antenna

• Perform a regular left-click throw and the grenade will cover the Long nice and smooth

• If you would also like to cover the Long Doors from CT spawn, then do the following

• From the same position (Elevator), turn around in the direction of the Long Doors

• Aim below the roof dead in the center below the long white stripe 

• Perform a jump-throw

• The nade will cover the double doors on Long
