M249 | Gator Mesh (Factory New)
The M249 | Gator Mesh (Factory New, FN) is an Industrial Grade M249 finish, a green coat laid down freehand with mesh fabric held over the shell as a stencil. Factory New is the cleanest grade it comes in, showing the mesh texture at its most defined.
Design
The look is built around a single trick: green paint sprayed by hand through a fabric mesh, so the weave of the cloth prints straight onto the metal as a repeating net-like texture. It's a Valve-made finish, spare and utilitarian rather than flashy, and it carries no in-game quote.
M249 | Gator Mesh (Factory New) Float and Wear
Float runs from 0.00 to 0.60 across the finish, and a Factory New copy sits at the very bottom of that band. Here the green stays deep and even, the mesh imprint reads sharp across the receiver and barrel shroud, and there's no scuffing to break up the pattern. If you want the texture at full legibility, this is the grade to chase.
M249 | Gator Mesh Rarity
Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier, one step above Consumer and near the bottom of the standard weapon grades. Common as a class, though this particular finish is far scarcer than its grade suggests.
M249 | Gator Mesh Case and Collection
This finish belongs to The Safehouse Collection, which arrived with the November 2013 "Out with the old, in with the new" update. There's no weapon case behind it — regular copies enter circulation as collection drops, while its Souvenir version was first hard-packed into the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and later Major souvenir packages.
M249 | Gator Mesh Patterns
The design is fixed — the paint-seed index doesn't shift how it looks, so every copy wears the mesh imprint the same way and there's no "best pattern" or blue-gem seed to hunt. Only wear and float separate one from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is no StatTrak version of this finish — StatTrak weapons are minted inside cases, and this one was never a case drop. It does exist as both a regular and a Souvenir finish, though; the Souvenir copies come from Major-tournament souvenir packages, first seen at DreamHack 2013 and handed out at later Majors as well.
M249 | Gator Mesh Price
Factory New sits at the top of this finish's price ladder as the cleanest grade available, and the finish as a whole is a high-end, grail-tier pick among M249 skins thanks to its age and thin supply. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Why is an Industrial Grade M249 skin so expensive?
Grade and price don't always line up. This finish debuted back in 2013 and was never packed into a weapon case, so supply is thin and mostly comes from an old collection plus scarce Souvenir packages. Age and low circulation, not rarity tier, are what push it into grail-tier territory.
Does the Factory New show the mesh pattern best?
Yes. Because the whole appeal is the net-like weave printed into the paint, a Factory New copy shows it at its most defined, with the deepest green and no scratching to interrupt the texture. Worn grades soften those lines, so Factory New is the pick for pattern legibility.
Which gloves suit the Gator Mesh?
Its earthy green base pairs naturally with an olive or military loadout, so green or khaki gloves work best — something like Hand Wraps in a drab colorway or Sport Gloves in a muted green ties the whole tactical theme together without fighting the mesh texture.
