SCAR-20 | Emerald (Factory New)
The SCAR-20 | Emerald (Factory New) is a Restricted autosniper skin that lays a translucent emerald anodized coat over a mirror-chrome base for a deep, jewel-like green shine. Factory New is the top grade this finish comes in, showing the candied green at its most reflective.
Design
The look starts with a chrome base coat, then a transparent emerald anodized effect paint is candied over the top, so light bounces through the green layer into the metal underneath. It's a Valve-made finish, and it ships with an in-game line: "This is what the great Sebastien Hennequet has been reduced to? A nagging school marm? What happened to you..."
SCAR-20 | Emerald (Factory New) Float and Wear
The finish is float-capped at 0.08, so its whole range runs 0.00–0.08 — it only ever exists as Factory New or Minimal Wear, and there are no Field-Tested or heavier grades at all. Factory New sits at the low end of that band, where the anodized green stays glassy and the chrome depth reads with no scuffing on the edges.
SCAR-20 | Emerald Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the blue-tier grade, sitting a couple of steps up the standard weapon ladder. It's an uncommon finish and one of the more sought-after SCAR-20 dresses.
SCAR-20 | Emerald Case and Collection
This finish belongs to The Alpha Collection, introduced with Operation Bravo back in September 2013. The Alpha Collection was a drop collection rather than a case, so copies were earned in-game during the operation rather than unboxed; with the operation long over, supply is fixed and the market is where nearly every copy changes hands now.
SCAR-20 | Emerald Patterns
The artwork is fixed, which means the paint-seed index does nothing to change how it looks — every copy carries the emerald coat the same way, and there's no "best pattern" or blue-gem seed to chase. Wear and float are the only things that tell one copy from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is no StatTrak version of this finish — StatTrak weapons are produced through cases, and this Alpha Collection drop was never issued in a StatTrak form. There's no Souvenir version either, since Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages, and this finish was never offered in one.

Why does the Emerald only come in two grades?
Its float is capped at 0.08, so the game never rolls a copy worn beyond the top of the Minimal Wear band. That leaves just Factory New and Minimal Wear on the market — there is no Field-Tested, Well-Worn, or Battle-Scarred version of this finish at all.
Is the Factory New worth the premium over Minimal Wear?
If you want the anodized green at its most reflective, yes. Factory New keeps the chrome depth glassy with no edge scuffing, while Minimal Wear looks nearly identical at a glance for less. Both are strong; the top grade is for collectors who want the finish as pristine as it gets.
Which gloves go with the Emerald?
