XM1014 | Black Tie (Factory New)
The XM1014 | Black Tie (Factory New) is a Restricted shotgun skin finished in sleek black and white chrome. Factory New is the top grade this finish comes in, showing the glossy monochrome look at its sharpest.
Design
Black Tie gives the shotgun a formal, high-gloss treatment in black and white chrome — a dressed-up, almost tuxedo aesthetic rather than a tactical camo. It's a community design by the artist Nextgenz, and it comes with a cheeky in-game line: "We have Izaki and Cocinero. You need them for anything or can I just kill them now?"
XM1014 | Black Tie (Factory New) Float and Wear
This finish runs a float range of 0.00–0.75, and Factory New sits at the bottom of that scale as the highest grade. Here the chrome reads glossy and reflective, the black-and-white contrast is at its boldest, and no scuffing interrupts the shine. For players who want the formal look at its most striking, this is the grade to reach for.
XM1014 | Black Tie Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the purple tier, sitting one step below Classified among the standard weapon grades. It's an uncommon grade to unbox.
XM1014 | Black Tie Case and Collection
This finish belongs to The Chroma 3 Collection and drops from the Chroma 3 Case, released with the Trichromacy update in April 2016. The Restricted tier as a whole unboxes about 16% of the time from the case (a rate shared across the tier's skins), and with the case out of the active drop pool, supply is fixed.
XM1014 | Black Tie Patterns
The chrome finish is a fixed design — the paint seed doesn't change the look, so every copy carries the black-and-white the same way, and there's no "blue gem" seed to hunt. Wear and float are the only things separating one from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak version of this skin exists and adds a confirmed-kill counter; it's a rarer, pricier drop from the Chroma 3 Case, and the counter is permanent — it never gets wiped when the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir version, since Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and the Chroma 3 Collection was never a Major drop.
XM1014 | Black Tie Price
Factory New sits at the top of this finish's price ladder as the cleanest and priciest grade — an affordable mid-tier pick within the XM1014 lineup that stays well short of grail money. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Factory New Black Tie worth it?
If you want the chrome at its glossiest, yes. Factory New keeps the black-and-white reflective and bold with no wear dulling it, which is what the top grade offers. If you mainly want the formal look for a loadout, a lower grade gives you a similar effect for less money.
Does the Black Tie ever go below Factory New float?
Factory New is already the lowest float band, starting at 0.00, so there's no cleaner grade above it. It's the ceiling of the range rather than a midpoint — the reflective chrome doesn't get any sharper than a Factory New copy delivers.
Which gloves go with the Black Tie?
Its black-and-white chrome scheme suits a sharp monochrome loadout, so black, white or gray gloves are the natural match. A clean pair in either color keeps the formal, high-contrast vibe intact, while bright or heavily patterned gloves fight the skin's minimalist, dressed-up look.
