CS2 has seven SMGs in its arsenal, and every one of them has at least a few finishes worth hunting down. This tier list ranks the standout skins across all seven — MP9, MAC-10, MP7, UMP-45, P90, PP-Bizon, and MP5-SD — by visual design, demand, and price-to-value, with 2026 prices throughout. If you're after which SMG actually performs best in a match rather than which one looks best in your inventory, our best SMG in CS2 breakdown covers the gameplay side instead — this list is strictly about the skins.

What Are CS2's SMGs?

Submachine guns sit between pistols and rifles in both cost and power — cheaper than a full rifle buy, more forgiving to spray than a pistol, and built for close-quarters maps and eco or force-buy rounds. CS2 has seven: the budget MP9 and MAC-10, the balanced MP7 and UMP-45, the high-capacity P90, the underrated PP-Bizon, and the suppressed MP5-SD. Skin-wise, the class ranges from sub-$1 camo patterns all the way up to an MP9 finish that regularly trades for thousands.

S-Tier: The Icons

S-Tier highlights the strongest overall SMG skin designs, combining visual appeal, collector interest, and distinctive aesthetics. These finishes stand out for different reasons, from iconic artwork to rare collection-based designs.

P90 | Asiimov

P90 | Asiimov (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$220 (FN) | Rarity: Covert

The white-and-orange sci-fi Asiimov line is arguably CS2's single most recognizable skin family, and the P90's version is one of the most natural fits for it — the gun's boxy bullpup shape gives the design plenty of flat surface to work with. From The Breakout Collection, released with Operation Breakout in 2014.

Best buy: Factory New is currently listed at around $220 on Skin.Land. Buyers looking for better value should also compare lower-wear grades when available.

MP9 | Wild Lily

MP9 | Wild Lily (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$2,500 (FN) | Rarity: Classified

Despite its Classified rarity, Wild Lily commands premium prices thanks to its distinctive floral design and limited supply from The St. Marc Collection — its deep purple-and-black grip wrapped in pink-and-white lily artwork regularly trades well into four figures. At this price point it's as much a conversation for investment-minded buyers as it is a loadout piece.

Best buy: There's no cheap way in here — Factory New at ~$2,500 is the going rate across every current listing.

MAC-10 | Neon Rider

MAC-10 | Neon Rider (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$100 (MW) - $110 (FN) | Rarity: Covert

Hot pink and teal color-blocking around a stylized rider-and-lightning graphic — a genuinely loud design that stands out in any loadout. From the Chroma 2 Case, and one of the more affordable genuine Covert-tier grails in the whole SMG class.

Best buy: Minimal Wear at ~$100 barely undercuts Factory New.

MP7 | Bloodsport

MP7 | Bloodsport (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$60 (FN) | Rarity: Covert

Black base covered in red-and-orange hazard-sticker graphics — "Ninja," "Voltage," a skull decal — a graffiti-and-warning-label aesthetic shared across the whole Bloodsport weapon line. From the Clutch Case, and one of the most reasonably priced Covert SMG skins on this list.

Best buy: Factory New sits around $60 with healthy stock across every wear, so it's worth comparing a couple of grades before deciding how clean you want it.

UMP-45 | Fade

UMP-45 | Fade (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$170 (FN) | Rarity: Classified

This one's a different take on "Fade" than the usual red-blue-yellow gradient — the UMP-45 version runs a metallic copper-to-magenta sheen instead, closer to an oil-slick finish than the typical tricolor. It belongs to The 2021 Dust 2 Collection. Unlike regular case skins, it comes from a map collection and can also appear in eligible Dust II souvenir packages — its distinctive metallic gradient and limited collection-based supply make it a standout UMP-45 finish.

Best buy: Factory New is currently listed at around $170 on Skin.Land. Availability and prices for other wear grades may vary.

PP-Bizon | Judgement of Anubis

PP-Bizon | Judgement of Anubis (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$105 (every wear) | Rarity: Covert

Gold Egyptian hieroglyph and serpent artwork etched into a dark teal-black body, with red gem accents — one of the most ornate designs the PP-Bizon has ever gotten, and proof this often-overlooked SMG can hold a genuine grail-tier skin. From the Chroma 3 Case.

Best buy: Prices barely move across wears — Factory New runs about $105, roughly the same as the roughest copy, so condition is mostly a matter of personal taste here.

A-Tier: Strong Picks

A-Tier features visually distinctive SMG skins that offer strong design appeal, although they may be more niche, expensive, or less versatile than the S-Tier picks.

MP5-SD | Oxide Oasis

MP5-SD | Oxide Oasis (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$160 (FN) | Rarity: Classified

A weathered copper-and-teal patina running the length of the integrated suppressor — genuinely looks oxidized, matching the name. MP5-SD | Oxide Oasis comes from The 2021 Mirage Collection and is also available in souvenir versions from eligible Mirage packages, making its distinctive oxidized-metal design one of the more recognizable premium MP5-SD finishes.

Best buy: Factory New is currently listed at around $160 on Skin.Land. Availability and prices for other wear grades may vary.

MP9 | Bulldozer

MP9 | Bulldozer (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$1,060 (FN) | Rarity: Restricted

A solid, bold construction-yellow finish — no graphics, just a single flat color that reads as unmistakable from across the map. Another case of a non-Covert skin commanding a genuinely high price, from The Assault Collection.

Best buy: Minimal Wear at ~$270 is a dramatically cheaper way to the same yellow finish, with only minor visible wear.

MAC-10 | Hot Snakes

MAC-10 | Hot Snakes (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$260 (FN) | Rarity: Classified

Despite the name, this isn't a bright, fiery design — it's a subdued, metallic snakeskin texture in grays and blacks, with a small orange flame-style logo the only real pop of color. From The Havoc Collection.

Best buy: Well-Worn at ~$180 keeps the snakeskin texture intact for noticeably less.

P90 | Astral Jörmungandr

P90 | Astral Jormungandr (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$360 (FN) | Rarity: Restricted

Named for the Norse world-serpent, this one covers the P90 in ornate turquoise ironwork-style knotwork etching — a tight, intricate pattern rather than bold graphics. From The Norse Collection, and one of the more design-forward Restricted-tier picks on this list.

Best buy: Factory New is currently listed at around $360 on Skin.Land. Availability and prices for other wear grades may vary.

UMP-45 | Minotaur's Labyrinth

UMP-45 | Minotaur's Labyrinth (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$80 (FN) | Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade

A purple-and-blue angular maze pattern that genuinely earns its "labyrinth" name — one of the more affordable ways onto this list, from The Gods and Monsters Collection.

Best buy: Field-Tested at ~$80 trades for barely less than Factory New — healthy stock across the board.

MP7 | Teal Blossom

MP7 | Teal Blossom (Factory New) - buy on Skin.Land

Price: ~$80 (FN) | Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade

A teal-and-green organic swirl pattern across the whole body — genuinely pretty for a Mil-Spec finish, and one of three St. Marc Collection skins featured here alongside Wild Lily and Day Lily.

Best buy: Battle-Scarred at ~$50 keeps the pattern readable for noticeably less.

B-Tier: Solid with Trade-offs

B-Tier skins are good buys, but each comes with a catch — a wear gap, a niche look, or thinner stock than the tiers above.

FAQ

How many tiers are in this SMG skins tier list?

Four: S, A, B, and C. S-Tier features six standout skins: Asiimov, Wild Lily, Neon Rider, Bloodsport, Fade, and Judgement of Anubis. C-Tier includes one affordable finish for each SMG, making it suitable for budget loadouts and, in some cases, trade-up material.

What criteria were used to rank these SMG skins?

Visual design, demand, and price-to-value — but rarity and price don't automatically determine tier. MP9 | Wild Lily and MP9 | Bulldozer are only Classified and Restricted respectively, yet both sit above several genuine Covert skins here because real market demand outweighs the rarity label alone.

See our AK-47 and Desert Eagle tier lists for the same approach applied to other weapons.

Which SMG is actually best to use in a match, not just look at?

That's a gameplay question, not a skins one — see the link at the top of this article for a full damage, cost, and recoil comparison, or our dedicated MP5-SD vs MP7 matchup if you're torn between those two specifically.

Why are some of these skins more expensive than Covert rarity ones?

Rarity tier reflects drop odds, not design quality or demand. MP9 | Wild Lily (Classified) trading above $2,000 while far more common Covert skins sell for a fraction of that is a clear example — supply and community demand move prices more than the rarity label does.

Do SMG skins affect gameplay in CS2?

No. Every finish on this list is purely cosmetic — damage, recoil, fire rate, and accuracy are identical across every skin on a given weapon. If you want to actually compare how a skin's wear affects its look before buying, that's a better next read than anything gameplay-related.
