G3SG1 | Contractor (Battle-Scarred)
The G3SG1 | Contractor (Battle-Scarred) is a Consumer Grade rifle skin, its tan, navy and dark green spray shown in the most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into the finish, trading surface polish for the lowest entry price.
Design
The Contractor keeps to a gritty, industrial concept: tan, navy and dark green sprayed onto different parts of the rifle rather than a single coat, giving off a patched, field-repaired vibe. Valve created the finish, and it comes with an in-game line — "Rona Sabri still hasn't forgiven Sebastien for not selecting her to go after Turner."
G3SG1 | Contractor (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
Battle-Scarred is the top of this finish's 0.06 to 0.80 float band. Damage shows openly here — heavy paint loss and bare metal spread across the body. Note that the float is capped at 0.80 rather than the full 1.0, so even this grade never reaches the most extreme wear a full-range skin can hit, and the tan, navy and green stay identifiable through the scuffing.
G3SG1 | Contractor Rarity
Rarity: Consumer Grade, the white tier — the entry level of the standard weapon grades. These are the game's most common skins and seldom carry any real premium, keeping this one squarely in bargain territory.
G3SG1 | Contractor Case and Collection
This finish sits inside The Baggage Collection, released with Operation Breakout in July 2014. It isn't unboxed from any case; as a Consumer Grade collection skin it enters circulation via collection drops, which means players buy nearly all copies through the market instead.
G3SG1 | Contractor Patterns
Since the artwork is fixed, the paint seed makes no difference — the tan, navy and green appear the same on every single copy, and there's no seed or "blue gem" version to seek. Wear and float remain the only things that separate one copy from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
The skin comes in a regular form only. No StatTrak edition was ever made, because StatTrak is tied to a case and Contractor lacks one, and there's no Souvenir edition, since Souvenir weapons are distributed strictly through Major-tournament packages that never carried this finish.
G3SG1 | Contractor Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the Contractor — the entry point for players who care about the look more than the condition. If you want the mismatched, industrial G3SG1 for as little as possible, this is the way in. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Contractor still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy wear, the tan, navy and green blocks stay distinct enough to read at a glance in-game. The rugged theme even suits the battered look, so a Battle-Scarred copy reads as intentionally weathered rather than simply trashed, all for the lowest price of any grade.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Contractor look completely destroyed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.80 instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never hit the most extreme wear on the scale. Combined with a design that already looks field-worn, the Contractor holds together more legibly here than many lighter, full-range skins would.
Is Battle-Scarred the best budget choice?
If absolute lowest cost is the target, yes. It's the cheapest grade and still shows the mismatched paint scheme clearly. If you'd like a slightly tidier example for a small step up in price, Well-Worn is the next rung, but Battle-Scarred wins purely on price.
